Hello,

I want to enter an IP Address in the internet browser in the NET TV application for browsing to my website. But it won't work. Am I doing something wrong or is a known issue?

With kind regards,
P

Hi,

as fas as I know internet IPs are not supported since all web pages are routed through Net TV servers...

Also domains in local network are unreachable. I think this is an issue. Why is this done? Do they want to log everything you do on the browser? I don't like the idea, that everything I do can be logged and looked at by some others.

I agree with smart.

1. Local Adresses don't work. There is even no error message.
2. I was NOTaware, that everything I do can be logged. Question for Philips: Why?

I observed, that there is a link to Fritzbox on hbbig.com. When I follow this link, it opens the local configuration of the Router (Fritzbox) http://fritz.box. When I tried to open the URL http://fritz.box with the Internet app, I was not able to open it.

Not sure how this is possible.

Anybody an idea?

This is really interesting. I created a very small html internet site for testing, which is available on public internet. It consisted of just one link to the local router http://fritz.box. When following that link, I was possible to open the router configuration through the TV.

On the same way, one is able to call ip-adresses. Just create a webpage with your link to a local ip-adress and open the webpage with the internet app. Then follow the link and you can reach your local stuff.

So in general it is possible to reach locally available web pages.

This brings me to a new idea of NetTV app. A simple page, where you can enter your local adress and open it. Similar to the internet app. As advanced options, one might be also allowed to call public webpages... Maybe also storing the last links...

Sounds a little similar to the internet app.

Or wait... Philips, might it be possible to add the local url feature to the internet app?

Philips, might it be possible to add the local url feature to the internet app?I think this should be done!
Earlier I did assume all requests are routed via NetTV-proxy. But as we see now this isn't the case. So I see no technical reason any more why local URLs don't work.
Indeed I could make a private link/bookmark page to overcome this limitation, but better Internet App should support local addresses.
