Stereo output

Hi,

I would like to buy the 9700 and my ampli is stereo.

Does it know I only request sereo (i.e. there is no cable on the other plugs) and the output is different?

Or do I simply miss the other outputs?

Hi,

Well, if your system hadles stereo, thats the sound you will get from the player. L/R connections in the back are recommendable, dependng on your ampli...

My question would be more about: is the L/R output different in stereo mode than in 5 or 7.1 ?

Basically, if there is sound for the background in 5.1, if you have stereo output is the sound missing or moved to the L/R ?

Not different as such, but I like the experience better in 5.1 or 7.1, you will still be able to hear everything and no sound is lost!:) If there is sound in the background, the player will choose either L or R to distribute sound.
