Hello what settings are you using when watching TV or Paying games. Can you share you settings please :)

I believe that ideally you should calibrate your TV yourself as there can be variations between models and even sets of the same model. However as a starting point here's the settings for my 46PFL9705. I calibrated it using an EyeOne Display 2 using HD Video Essentials for the test patterns and this (http://www.homecinema-fr.com/colorimetre/index_en.php) software, following this (http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10457) guide.
My settings are as follows:
Contrast - 50
Brightness - 51
Colour - 50
Sharpness - 0
Noise reduction - Off
Tint - Custom (R117 G85 B67)
Perfect Natural Motion - Off
400Hz Clear LCD - On
Super Resolution - Off
Perfect Contrast - Off
Dynamic Backlight - Off
MPEG Artefact Reduction - Off
Colour Enhancement - Off
Gamma - 0
These are the settings I use for watching Blu Ray and HD broadcasts. I've applied these settings under 'Cinema'
I have created a few variations for other activities as follows, all other settings are as per above.
For games I turned 400Hz off and saved the settings under 'Game' (obviously!)
For SD broadcasts I've set MPEG artefact reduction to Medium and saved these settings under 'Standard'
For 3D (which I think looks naff on this TV anyway:() I've changed the contrast to 79 and saved the settings under 'Vivid'
For sport (well, just F1 for me!) I've set the natural motion to minimum and saved the settings under 'Natural'
I've got a couple of other variations but this is really all I use. I personally think, with good source material, the picture is incredible with these settings on my TV. I'd definitely recommend calibrating your set youself, at least just with the HD Essentials disc as in my opinion all the defaults settings range from watchable to dreadful.
Hope this helps

You''ll find similar settings for the 52PFL5605H here:
Scroll to middle of page.
I'd wish Philips would abandon all those useless settings that should default to off and give us more useful settings to calibrate the screen.

Hmmm, bet that doesn't come as a firmware upgrade!
