Hi,
I'm very happy with the player. great sound, image quality is superb. but i see in MKV and blue Ray disk a small stutter once every minute.
it reminds me to the 24 frames stutter known by some media players.
it's hooked up to the panasonic vt20. (other BD players didn't show the problem on this set)

Also (minor issue) when I press the OK button on the Panasonic TV remote.... the player pauses.

Please try get rid of the "play" message when skipping through cd tracks.

I think this is somehow related to the observations a user in the German Hifi forum also made. It seems that things god improved from firmware to firmware according to this user but for now it is not completely solved. I'm sorry, I have no solution, just wanted to express that there are more users with the same issue.

Dear Kingdaka & Gerhard,

Would you be able to give us more info on this issue - 1) when it happens and how frequent that is? 2) Does this happen to all MKV files & Blu-ray disc? 3) is there any specific steps to reproduce it?

With thanks & regards,
Philips Moderation Team

Hi QK,

I will try to contact the guy I was talking about to provide more information about this shutter thing.

Hi,
It happens about once in a minute (just 1 small kickup, best seen in panning shots, that the screen stops for a couple of miliseconds, and then continues).
I saw this behaviour also on blue ray: "the black knight rises" and the "game of thrones" series
it really looks like the 24hz bug known on the wd tv live (for example).

Okay, I got the information so far.

Environment:

Beamer - Sony HW30, Motionflow set to low.
AVR - Onkyo TX-NR616.
Two HDMI-Kabel setup.
BDP picture settings are "optimal" and 1080p/24 is set to "auto".

The latest firmware shows the effect very clear when watching 3D movies. 2D seems to be more or less not affected. The guy says that he is very sensitive to these shutter effects and says that in 2D mode you cannot really call it shutter, only sometimes some "itchy" moments.

Dear Kingdaka & Gerhard,

Thanks for your information!

Dear Kingdaka,

Do you have the same comment as the other consumer from Germany forum that it's easier seen when play 3D disc?

Kind regards,

Hi,
@ Philips QK: I don't have any 3d discs in my collection, so I cannot comment on it yet.
@Good88690: I still have the problem.

My settings are: resolution to automatic, no optimization for image. and I tried several settings, but it didn't change.

Also found out that when playing a CD like the new Ozark disc, it displays the track info, but the when the name of the song is a bit longer, it doesn't stay long enough to completely show it.

Hi. Its not a solution but.I read about this on other forums and brands and some made a workaround when set their player to 1080p or 1080i.

it can do it for 2d moives, set 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 720i............

but 3D must coerce 1080p/24........................ so cannot set and still have problem

Hello there,

I have the same problem with the picture stuttering every 50-60 seconds.
Have tried the Philips connected directly to two different TV's with different HDMI cables and also tested with Auto and 1080P/24HZ. Same result. I currently run my Philips through a
Yamaha RX-A3020. With a cheap Sony BD everything works fine but with the Philips the picture stutters.
