I have had this wireless stereo for a couple of months now and it has been set up with my home wireless network.

I use mainly the internet radio and never really stream music through the media manager (i found this to be very laborious).

whilst connected to the internet radio there would be dropped connections every 10 minutes or so. The radio would eventually come back on after several minutes or if i reselected the radio station using the airstudio app on my iphone. This was annoying on its own and i have learnt to live with it upto now but after the latest firmware update the connection has been awful. I can only listen to the radio for a few seconds at a time before the connection drops again.

On the airstudio app when i select the aw5000 there seams to be a small exclamation symbol (!) on the radio that i have never noticed before.

Can anyone help me out with this as i feel like i have bought a 300 paperweight.

Many Thanks
Billy

On my aw2000 the playback also shows hick-ups every so many minutes. Something that is introduced with the new firmware update. We will probably have to wait until the next update, I am afraid.

By the way, I should add that it hicks only with internet radio. Spotify and streaming does not have this issue

Me too on all counts!

Can anyone help me out with this as i feel like i have bought a 300 paperweight.

used mainly for radio - have had various problems getting it to start, connect and stay connected.
Downloaded latest firmware update and it not stops every few minutes and will stay with no sound for long periods (white solid led) then sound might come back on.

Have resorted to factory reset and resetting onto our wireless network, have checked signal strength etc all fine.

Also have the funny little exclamation mark claiming signal is closer to bad than good when all other gadgets show signal strength to be 100%

Have even resorted now to moving my PURE radio in it's place! So unimpressed and completely regretting buying something that connects over wireless!

i have aw3000 and something wrong with wifi connection too. at standby (green led) no problem with ping aw ip (0% packet loss) , but when led is white (playing music or not), ping starts periodicly losing packets (6% packet loss on 100 packets)
a rather strange behaviour

Hi both, may you check if your wifi channel has much interference ?

Hi DawnJR, what is your radio station listening to ? Not sure if the connection to that station is bad

Hi - practically no interference and also the only item using that wireless connection!
BBC Radio2.

Didn't have the problem with it frequently dropping connection until I did the most recent firmware upgrade!

My device doesn't has this problem, I can only guess to try with other router or use LAN cable, but I know that is reluctance....

Indeed...what is the point of a wireless speaker if it has to be wired to work?????

in my opinion it is firmware related issue - connection is stable, 135Mbps (n 40, but I check all other modes), ping 1ms when unit in standby mode

when "white led", no meter if play music or not, device start to dropping packets periodically (~30s / 2 packets) or sometime response very slow (~2000ms)

AP is Asus RT-N65U, I have other devices connected without any problem

ps. english is not my first language / apologize :o

I also think it is the firmware: I monitored the wifi and it was stable while the internet radio (Pinguin radio, NL) gave hick-ups. Spotify playback shows no issues what so ever. Also the radio that I played simultaneously on my tablet (using Tunein) does not give the hick-ups.

Hi,
I have a Aw3000 with exactly the same problem as listed her. With the last Firmwareuppgrade this problem started. Is there any way to downgrade the firmware to prior rev.
The new firmware have coursed the sensitivity on the WiFi to go down to perhaps 25 % compared with before. If i put the the wifi close to the AW 3000 it works but a meter away it start to malfunction.

When is Philips coming out with the next rev of FW? Advice what to do, please.
Regards

Bravia I would to reset back too. It is not one particular audio station. It is not the router. I now have the issue that I am permanently on amber light. When I try to reset and connect it o a network nothing. Go through the process (same network) it just stats white at the end of the process. Feeling that this is such a waste of money.
