This week, Philips launched DesignLine, a new line of TVs that creates a fusion between function and form and breaks the paradigm of homogenous TV design.

Previewed exclusively at Fuorisalone, at the world's premier design fair, Milan's Salone del Mobile, DesignLine Edge and Tilt TV models and the SoundHub home theater will go on sale in Europe from July 2011.

I like these designs very much! It looks as these TV's stand only on the front glass plate, especially this 'Tilt' version. What are the technical spec's and screensizes? Only meant for in the kitchen or bedroom? And what about the remote control, also a piece of design...?

Philips, peoples here already have bought a philips TV. The mostly will not buy another one immediatly so advertising on the support forum is inadequate.
What I would love to see is you writing something like that :

Dear customers (or beta testers),
I have thoroughly read the forum sorting out bug and requests for the 2009/2010 series.
I have classified them with the developper's team and here is the planning of action

description, urgence, accepted, fixed in, votes, ...

This simply called a bug tracker. A very classic tool for a compagny developping software.
Writing 'PM me with your problem' is just not serious.

Ads ons this forum ???? The only time Phiips comes with information its about their new tv's??? Come one!

What about all the bugs and requests of the 2010-models;
- No now/next box when zapping (Also not in the 2011 models ??!!!!!) Wouldnot buy this new one, i recommend all other brands who do have this feature!!!
- USB recording in the 2010 models
- IP-EPG for Ziggo CI+-users in the Netherlands for the 2010-models (still no answer when this is fixed, only that the certification is the problem a thing Ziggo strongly denies!! Above that in the 2011-models it works for Ziggo CI+users
- All the sound-dropproblems in the 2010-models
- SBS Gemist for the Netherlands (its simply a thing VOD must have in the Netherlands) on NETTV
- SRT-subtitles support for the 2010-models
- MKV-support for the 2010-models

So Philips I recommend that you answer to above problems and tell the customers when these things are arranged instead of these advertisements. 2010-users are not going to buy an new tv when they bought an expensive 2010-model!

I also agree with Erikrijnders. Not because this is a support forum and not a place for advertisements, but because there is no response from Philips (the company - not the human moderator) about the *missing* features their TVs have.

No DVB-T EPG and no now/next support on TVs that cost 2.300 euros in 2010?

Why do you always have this positive thing towards Philips?? Stakeholder or do you have a job there? If you donot understand why customers complain when they bought a tv that doesnot support feature that a customer expect these complaints will go on and on. I am not positive about how Philips acts on this forum and how Philips takes care of problems. They never help the customer instead they hide behind lies or do not react at all.

Why open a forum at all??? We are talking to walls here and the only answer we get is an advertisement of their 2011-models!!!

I want answers in the way like: we are working on this or we are talking to Ziggo about this problem etc. Philips never takes steps to solve problems of customers. Instead they come with standard answers or even lies (e.g. Ziggo certification CI+ in relation to IP-EPG, because the 2011 certified models do have IP-EPG)

I understand your problems (and as I often stated I also find many things that need to be fixed) - but in this thread they are on the wrong place.

At the moment the TV forum is not official = unsupported. From June it goes live!

Its not the forum that is unsupported, but the customers.

I bought an 9705, and surprises kept coming:

I found that there was no local dimming in 3D. And no way to adjust the at least adjust the backlight, as other brands have. Not event a dedicated preset for 3D!

Then, I discovered that the TV has no DVB-T EPG support. And of course, no IP EPG support. And no now/next. Again nothing similar to what *every* other TV brand has.

Then, the lack of support of DTS pass-through. Again something all other brands have. Which renders the "media player" useless, as just the existence of a DTS band in a file, makes the file unplayable (even if there is a DD band that can be used instead).

Then, the "media player". No subtitle support. How comfortable...

Then, the SPDIF pass-through issues. Sound drops...

Then, the funny way the TV is operated. Started making proposals in the hope they improve things, (like adding the off timer in the green menu, open the TV by pressing a numeric key to switch to that channel, fix spelling mistakes), but with no result.

So, my question will always be: what has Philips done to support me?

I think the "unsupported" forum is better supported than me :), and I know that nothing will really change on the 1st of June.

So?? the IP-EPG, USB-recording and the now/next box are part of the supported NET-TV forum. Philips reacts in lies or doesnot react at al how they are going to solve a problem and when. This is no way you can tread customers that paid a lot of money for their tv.

Above that all they CAN place an advertisement here. This is very strange and odd. We are not waiting for advertisements as 2010-users but for answers. I bought an expensive tv a few months ago. What does Philips think??? That I am going to buy a new one? The ass is totally in the wrong place.
