I have an problem with my Philips Essence 43 LCD Model 42PES0001H/10.

The screen is covered with an white milky overlay. Just like there is to much brightness - but you can in some degree still see through the 'milky white overlay'.

I've attached an screenshot of the LCD screen.

Talked with an Sony flatscreen dealer today. He belived that the panel was faulty.

What is your diagnose? Is the panel broken? (I hope not - just three years old :()

The LCD screen:

Hi jsj,

go to the normal TV mode and press on the remote: 1,2,3,6,5,4.
the TV will show a Menu, you will hear sound in the Backround.
Please check if screen is okay now or if it keeps "milky".

Thanks
Thomas

Hi Thomas

Same result as in the attached screen dump :(. I see the CSM 1 menu - with sound and image in background - but still 'milky'.

I have a 37PFL9604 with latest firmware, and I seem to have the same problem - since a few days my screen goes white as well. At first it seems to be ok, an then it's like somebody turns up the brightness completely. A factory reset does not help.
I would have attached a picture, but the attachment uploader shows a database error.

And after entering the CSM1 menu my screen stays "milky" as well. I think I will call the support center...
