Hi,

try to switch your TV hard off for 3-4 minutes... it's always a good idea after a firmware update...

40PFL7605H and DVD player Sencor over hdmi.
I used firmware 75.13.54 for several months - no sound or picture drops. After upgrading to 140.39 (to enable youtube, jointspace etc.) I have noticed sound/picture drops (rarely).

I still get black screens and authentication errors (107-4 and E16-4) when flicking through channels (tried 2 different smart-cards), NET TV sometimes does not work at all and sometimes the TV just freezes and won't react on the remote control.
After switching it to standby I can't turn the TV on anymore and I need to switch it off and on with the switch on the TV.

Anoying like hell.

NET TV isn't working correctly on this version ( like the previous one 140.037.0.).
This was told to me by philips helpdesk, rootcause for the net tv problem hasn't been identified yet.
When the rootcause is known there will be a fix released asap.
All people that have complained will be notified by Philips when this is the case..
No time frime has been given yet.

Positive : TV seems to boot faster.

Negative : When using the HTS 7200 via easylink as speakers for the TV (using the coaxial cable) it takes 30 seconds after the tv has shut down to shutdown the HTS 7200.
The previous firmware needed 10 seconds.

Hi,

We just returned home from vacation & found our TV not responding to the remote control anymore.
Tried to resolve it by installing this new version (according to the release notes it was one of the problems fixed). The installation went successful, but the problem remained. I cannot verify the installed version (no remote control response), and when trying to repeat the upgrade steps is seems that the television no longer triggers an installation on inserting an USB stick with autorun.upg.

Can anyone tell me what to do now?

Hi,

does the red LED on the TV flash if you press any button on the remote? If not, change your batteries...

It does not respond at all. no flashing LED. The batteries are OK though. I checked (battery tester). Furthermore: i have two remote controls. 1 original & 1 universal (PHILIPS SRU8008).
Both working perfectly before holliday, neither one working after the holliday.
All other devices still correctly respond to the SRU8008 - as expected.

The only that happened in fact is that the TV was unplugged for a long time.

It would be good to add support for AVCHD files (.mts, .m2ts).

TIP: Another way to check if your remote control sends out an (infrared) signal: while pushing a button at your remote control, check the IR-LED in on your RC with your digital camera. If the RC is working, you now must be able to see the IR-LED flashing on the display of your camera!!

Give it a try, it's really funny.....

Thanks all for your tips.
I called Philips Service.
They also asked me to check the remote control with a digital camera. It worked. Indeed funny to see.

Now waiting for repair/technician. Should take a few days.

If you turn off the TV with a remote control when watching videos with USB, it turns off, but after 10 seconds back on. The problem appeared in the firmware 137.
When viewing a MKV video file from the USB, HD Natural Motion function does not work. Video is not smooth at any value of the setting.

I agree with you. I would like this feature, but it's since December I asked for this in this forum; I'm going to think they will never add support for AVCHD files.

Dear Philips, is support of the model range of 2010 year probably ending or has already ended? Make at least present for owners of these TVsets lastly,
release the FW with parameters image processing similar to the firmware 075.13.54.

Could you please enable the now/next and network-EPG function in the Netherlands?

Philips helpdesk points to Ziggo's CI+ certification and Ziggo's helpdesk points to Philips and discards this certification issue... so... could Philips please contact Ziggo and sort this out?

I am also waiting for this. I can not understand why Philips say this is an Ziggo issue, while it works with all other branches. I am very dissappointed about this and this will have consequences for further purchaces of any kind of Philips products.

A few weeks ago i bought a philips 7605h 40". One of the reasons i purchased the philips products was network-epg support as advertised. Now sadly this is not supported on my tv. Philips disabled the function for dutch users and points the finger to Ziggo, while Ziggo put out a official statement saying the network-functions should not be disabled and thus pointing the finger to Philips the consumers are out of luck. Now i called Philips support and they told me they are not going to change the functionality for the 2010tv's. I asked them nicely to check the conflict with Ziggo and they promised to e-mail me. They didn't.

So i think Philips is not putting the effort to solve this conflict with Ziggo for their costumers. Now for all Dutch people, i advice you not to buy a philips tv until Philips put out a official statements and clears the rumors.

Im deeply disappointed in Philips and their support. Even on this forums the Philips officials are avoiding the questions about this IP-EPG topic and do not care about the dutch users. They just ignore us!

No they donot. The question goes to the technicians, who have to solve this out. A Philips member on this forum is going to sort this out and comes back to us as soon he knows more.

I also gave him the statement from the Ziggo-official on the Ziggo-forum in which is clearly stated that the IP-EPG must work and shouldnot be blocked. Cable-info is default, but IP-EPG must co-exist. Ziggo never ever stated that the IP-EPG must be blocked when using CI+:

Bug in this firmware:

When watching a AVI movie via DLNA streamed from my NAS running Twonky server on my 42PFL7655K02 and then pressing the standby-button on the remote without stoping the movie prior to it and entering the home screen or switching bach to television, the TV enters standby mode, but the network interface of the TV does not shut down. The TV is still receiving data through the network, because all lights on my switch keep blinking like crazy, which is normal during data transfer. When I turn on the TV again, then there is no boot-sequence showing the Philips logo, even after several minutes of standby, instead the movie appears directly on the screen within a second. It looks like that the TV never enters standby mode, but instead just turns off the display and the sound.

Sound drops also occur on 42PFL7655K02 since I installed 140.39. Never had an issue before. But it happens only very very seldom and only if the TV is running for several hours. (Probably I never experienced the issue before because I normally do not watch so much television.) Swiching the channel back and forth solves the problem.

Hi Mark,

I also had similar problem with my TV using DVB-C, and it turned out the cause was my Wi-Fi router which was close to my TV. The solution was to point the router's antenna to other direction...

Good evening.
TV 42PFL5405H/12 assembled in Poland
Current Firmware Q5521-0.140.39.0
1. Most mp4 files not working, but when I click fast: next file and rewind forward, it starts playing files that normaly don`t and then no pause or rewind works for that file.
2. Fast rewind works only at one speed, in comparison to 42pfl3606h at various speed up to 16 or 32.
3. Very slow switching between resolution changes from PC -DVI to HDMI. Most of the times must switch off tv then turn it on.
4. On blueish/grey picture i see picture flow (waves) on 2/3 of the screen.
4. Why is so hard to implement .srt subtitles?

4. Why is so hard to implement .srt subtitles?

I'm afraid that 's because they treat it as an additional feature which is not available for PFL5405H/12 or PFL7605H/12. It can't be hard to implement. "If you need subtitles, just buy one of our brand new 2011 models" :)
