I suggest to collect the problems with 1.57 in this new topic. (topic for 1.53 has become rather long)

Today I installed 1,57, german version. Installation goes without problems. The user settings are retained. (I have screensaver=off, easylink=off) I made just a short test. Problems:

1. Playing a mp4 through DLNA freezes the player. I pressed some buttons on the remote, to see if the there were new features, and this resulted in my TV screen going black, and the player had to be shut off by removing power.
2. Playing mp3 through DLNA still doesn't show the title, artist and album information. Only after pressing Pause and then Play, will this info be displayed.
3. When playing a mp3 disk (DVD), the player displays filename instead of track info.

I wonder what Philips means by saying "Enhance the video file playability" in release notes. My first impression is rather negative.

I changed back Settings to ScreenSaver=on and EasyLink=on. With these settings I didn't have the freezing problems of 1.53. So some progress was made.

I've updated my Philips 5100 for first time since I bought it to 1.57 and no problems so far...in fact everything seems to be running a lot smoother. Tried a few MKVs and they all seem good so far

Great being able to enable subtitles as watchedIP Man and Norwegian Wood now without problems...only use USB drive as network seems too slow.

....hang on, saying that, I've noticed a problem which didn't exist before...if you've got a folder within a sub folder, it will no longer recognise it...

So for example. on root of my drive, I have:

Movies folder

Within Music folder, for example only, I'll have the artist Mr T and the Crazy Fools, and then all albums by that artist. It shows no content even though there are folders there...it always used to work but no longer unfortunately...

Same goes with my TV folder...say I've got all episodes of Grange Bill, then split by series, it won't show the series as that's too many folders within (even though it's not that many!)

If anyone knows a fix, I'll be grateful as kinda like having:

Music>>>Artist>>>then Album>>>then songs.
