Can ping TV from laptop - but sharing does not work

Hi

I recently bought a Philips 37PFL7605H.
I'm quite pleased with it.
However, there is one thing that drives me mad : I can't connect to my laptop to view photos/movies.
I would really like to do so since the ways to do so directly on the TV are a bit disappointing (via USB it does not play the avi movies from my camera, and the SD card is only for movie download ..)

I used media player 11, or tversity, but the TV does never show up in the 'share media with..' window ;-(
I tried many things :

- turning off firewall
- replace wireless laptop connection with cable to modem/switch to avoid mix of cabled TV and wireless laptop
- turning modem upnp setting active
- checked services are running

nothing helps..

I can ping the dynamic TV IP fine from the laptop !!
So the laptop sees the TV, but I would wish the TV sees the laptop ;-)

I can also get on the internet fine with the TV.

Anyone hint would be greatly appreciated.

Please give us more Informations on your PC (OS, SP etc).
Also, what IP does the TV and the PC got?
How are they both connected exactly?
Can you access NetTV from the TV?

Sorry for late reply due to absence.
Here are the answers to your questions :

XP Professional version 2002 SP3

The PC is connected wireless to Telenet (recently installed fibernet).
The TV is connected via UTP cable to the Telenet modem.

In order to avoid the mix of wireless laptop and cabled TV, I also tried with the laptop wired to the modem, but that gave the same result.

Net TV works fine! Listening to an iconcert at this very moment ,-)

Also, I can ping the TV IP from the laptop, so the TV is definitely visible on the network.

C:\Documents and Settings\mario>ping 192.168.000.108

Pingen naar 192.168.0.108 met 32 byte gegevens:
Antwoord van 192.168.0.108: bytes=32 tijd=5 ms TTL=64

However, it is the media sharing from the PC that seems to be the issue.

Hi,

in this Case i can only suggest that you trie to disable the Windows Firewall Service completly to see if the TV appears on the sharing list after that.
