Since having my 42PFL8404 connected to Xbox by HDMI it has spasms of flashing green lightning across the screen where it looks like the panel is going to die - it also has moments when the screen just blacks out and resumes couple seconds later
I've tried my Xbox on different display setting and it seems to be worse at 1080p, slightly fewer incidents at 720p and none at 1080i (but poor picture)
Anyone else got these issues or just my TV?

Have you tried another TV (if possible?)
I got purple / green flashes with my xbox once.
The Xbox died about 3 days later. I think it was due to the videocard.
So the TV could be OK. Although it would be strange considering you dont have problems at 1080i...

Its not the Xbox - works fine on scart and 1080i
Changed HDMI port and no green flashes at 720p at the moment but TV still has blackouts for a couple seconds a time

My only other TV is just 1080i and that works fine

Update: The TV is getting progressively worse - It became totally unusable at 720p with picture breaking down every few seconds - Finally resorted to switching Xbox output to 1080i (a resolution the Philips High-End TV can handle) - I dont have bluray player and one of the main points in me 'trading up' to 1080p TV was my Xbox - and the Philips just cant handle it
After couple of month the Philips TV is now struggling to handle 1080i with regular picture break down
