View Full Version : Suggestion: UI/File browser improvements

I have my USB disk of 500gb full of video files. But it's so hard to find the thing I'm looking for in the file browser.
When I want to watch a video which name starts with the letter Z I have to scroll through nearly 800 videos before I arrive down to the right video. (Imagine how this would be for someone streaming from a NAS with 2TB space)

Please make the UI/file browser more compatible with long lists.. and you might want to give it smaller fonts so that more details fit on the screen and other such ways that'll make the browsing experience a lot easier.

I have a BDP5200/12 with the latest firmware(1.16 i believe)

Maybe you can sort them into folders for each letter the name starts with?

Please do not change to smaller fonts, one decision for Philips was the large and clear UI.

Over 50% of the videos don't start with the correct letter by default.. when I download these videos often the file or folder name starts with the uploaders name or just some random key... it''ll be a hell of a job to rename everything.
Averagely I download about 15 new ones and delete 15 old ones from my disk every week.. it would be a never-ending task renaming them all the time.
Besides I've already managed to sort them into 3 folders (series/movies/music).
So in short, making folders per letter or even letter groups would be futile and a big no-no.

I'm sure you guys at philips can manage to think of something that's more browsing friendly. ;)

read this several times here and we have put it in the wishlist subforum.
so let's hope Philips is going to solve that.
