Hi,

I have a DCM278 and a DC315 and when an Iphone or an Ipod Touch is in a silicone pouch there there is no contact between them.
I have to remove the pouch each time.

Near my bed I have a similar product from Sony and the connector is little bit longer and accomodate the iphone in a pouch.

I find that this a real problem, is there any solution, a sort of adaptator with a female connector and a longer male at the other side ?

regrettably i dont have your devices... the only docking device with me is the DS8500. and i dont have any docking problem with it even when i have a thick protective case. this is one i m using

but used a thinker silicon one (again Philips) before named "game case", it has no prob docking as well.

the docking connector is kinda "flexible" that can bend forth and back. to me, this can almost dock everything, even my iPad (it s not mentioned when i first bought it)...

not so familiar with your devices, but are the connectors of the "flexible" kind?

but i think the idea of Sony is bright as well... to make the connector a bit longer so that it can accommodate everything... (esp when it can never guarantee what case/ pouch are available out there in the market...)

sorry cant help much here... just wud like to share my own exp.

Hi Ledide,

As Kwinnie has mentioned the connectors can be a little bit flexible so adjusting the way the phone/player is sitting on the dock by 'wiggling' it a bit can help.

Obviously do be careful and don't force it.

There a lot of different cases available on the market at the moment and unfortunately they're not all the same size so this does make it difficult for manufacturers to accommodate protective cases when docking.

It is possible that you'll find the issue doesn't occur with a different case but we don't usually recommend the use of cases with our docks.

I do like the sound of your adapter idea to extend the length of the connector slightly and will be sure to pass this on, I can't confirm if it's something we will adopt but we will definitely look into the option.

Many thanks for your feedback on this product, it's always appreciated :)
