Well, maybe this is more interesting of the m2ts post for the support team, I have this issue with the hard disk
everything is slow, intial recognize of the hard disk, browsing, and initial play of the movie.
the movie plays ok once started, the hard disk has a standby feature if no activity on the usb.
Any idea how to solve this, the hard disk is externally powered up.
thanks fo the answer

the blueray has the last firmware 1.42 and the hard disk is almost empty

What is slow? I remember there was another thread related to the same problem but will have to look it up.

So how long does it take the starting of the movie, please more info would be welcome

thank you for the answer,

10 seconds elapsed between the usb icon appears and it becomes enabled (color change)
21 seconds after the push of the ok button to have the directory list
60 seconds between play pressed and directory list disappear (blu screen)
65 seconds between blue screen and the movie plays

It seems that the access time is going better putting more data on the hard disk, I also divided the space in two partion of 1 TB each.
I also discovered on google that the parking time of the heads for the green feature is setted to 8 seconds maybe the problem is related to this too, it is possible to change the time openening the box and conneting the hard disk to a sata, booting in dos and using a dos application from wd named wddidle3.
If someone already did this and can post the result would be appreciated.
thank you

Dear users,

Thanks for your feedback!

With regards to the long-HDD-reading-time issue, we have tested and benchmarked our devices with some other brands’ devices.

It is true that our devices takes a slightly longer time in loading the files from a external hard disk, but this is because of the following:

1) When you first plug in your HDD, Philips devices read all files/folders in your HDD and display them all in menu under “USB device” ; while the other brands we have tested read out 70 files and display them accordingly.

2) The limitation for the number of files is 30,000 for Philips devices per folder; while it’s 2000 for the other brands we have tested.

This is set up this way as there are consumer feedback on “Loading time for the next page is too long when I browse files in a HDD”. We appreciate your advice and we will consider that for our future development.

Kind regards,
