Ethernet over HDMI

My TV (37PFL8605K) is connected to the ethernet/internet.
The Home Theater System (HTS5220) is connected to the TV via HDMI 1.4
But there is no connection to the ethernet at the HTS5220.
Is the ethernet over HDMI not supported?

Any ideas?
