View Full Version : Philips LCD-TV 37PFL7605H problems with the image

I just bought a Philips LCD-TV 37PFL7605H and from the beginning I'm having problems with the image. The colors finally seem to be ok and close up images are pretty sharp. But when there are a lot of colours (e.g. a large meadow with a lot of green and some trees etc), it seems very fuzzy and unfocused. Letters on the screen (not subtitles) seem to have a small shadown beneath them which makes you look a bit double (unfocusesed).

Does anyone have any idea which setting could help fix this? I kind of tried them all :( Or prhaps it's the tv thats not good, but I cant tell now...

Hi Reinder.

The picture performance of this set is quite good I would say.
Could you explain how you connect your set and from which source you are watching.
It makes some difference when you are watching analog reception from an antenna or HDMI content from a bluray player.

With kind regards, Samson.

Your TV has a build-in High Definition Demo movie. Press the home button, configuration, scroll right to the Demo's. These Demo movies should look perfect, if they are not then contact Philips service to repair your TV. If the Demo is OK but your regular videos are not, than your video source is the suspect. If you use a set top box or satellite tuner, check your connecting cables.

Dear Reinder,
You could try to reset the TV to the factory settings and then try different smart settings. Do you experience the fuzzyness on different sources, like analogue TV, DVD/Blu-ray, digital TV? It could be that the problem is not caused by the TV, but by the source that you are watching.

Dear Reinder,

If you are not satisfied with your TV's (picture) performance, you should report this to your dealer, or to the Philips customer service representative of your country. Contact info can be found here (http://www.support.philips.com/support/catalog_selector.jsp): select your country and then "Contact Philips".

Hey Philips. And what should Philips Support do for me? Give me my money back?
Just bought a 46PFL7605H/12 and I am really disapointed.

Can you explain me why in your HD Demo Movie there is no BLACK portion and no dark scene??? Ahh, because your TV can't provide any black or shadow detail. This is not possible with such a new product. That Pixel Precise stuff etc is useless.

My Samsung LED TV bought last year is 100 times better in image quality.

Actually it's a rip off. I want my money back!

PS: I bough this for Ambilight and it seems this is the only thing I've got for the money.
