View Full Version : Philips 2011 TV's series input lag

I'm currently enjoying Philips 9705h which has a very low input lag (~16-20ms). I've also had 8605h and again, input lag was around 16-20ms. What is the input lag value for new tv series? I'm mostly interested in 32pfl9606k and 32pdl7906k and I've heard that those figures are higher this year. This is a crucial factor for me, since I'm using tv also as a computer, so I've decided to ask at the very source - Philips forum.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Hi Mark,

Isn't this normally written in the leaflet as response time? I checked a 9706 and 8605 and for the new model it is 0.5 ms while for the old it is 1 ms. Or isn't this what you're referring to?

unfortunately, i'm referring to input lag and not the panel response time. response time refers more to how blur of the image looks like on the screen in fast action and so on, while input lag is the delay of the image because of the processing, before being show on the screen (delay between actual user action - mouse movement for example - with an input device and when that action is reflected on the screen).

it is extremely important to people's using tv as a monitor, because most tv's are lagging significantly (even more than 60ms), while computer monitors do not (with some minor exceptions). with high input lag, you can exclude any gaming.

I've only read two 7606 reviews that measured the input lag. While the 7606 isn't the same as the 7906, I would guess their input lag are fairly similiar.

FlatPanelsHD (http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&id=1316001274) measured the input lag to be 38-45ms.
DigitalVersus (http://www.digitalversus.com/philips-42pfl7606h-p364_11608_53.html) measured the input lag to be 33ms.

So yeah, the 2009 & 2010 models from Philips had noticeably better input lag than the 2011 models (and the very slow pre-2009 models too). Don't know why they went with a worse input lag this year, after pretty much having the best input lag in the industry for two years. Doesn't make any sense to me.

doesn't make any sense to me either :/. There's a little hope in me that 32pfl9606k and 32pdl7906k have a different values... Any chance someone from Philips support staff will know the answer or we'll have to wait for reviews?
