View Full Version : [Idea] Video aggregator app

I know, we currently have only Viewster and Videociety in Germany, but assuming that maxdome and videoload might also provide an app for Net TV, then it might be helpfull to have one app which searches for a video in all videostores and shows the user in which store it is available and for which price. So the user has got an overview where to rent it with the cheapest price.

I have seen such a feature in a product presentation for Google TV. Not sure if it is working there, but I like the idea.

For me it is mostly not important which video store to use. I prefer the cheapest price, the video is the same in each store...

nice idea. So, when can we expect Maxdome and "videoload" (*haha* - VideoLoad is a running gag)? Some press releases mentioned that Maxdome will be available on Philips TVs in 2011. So 2 months to go... and hopefully also for 2010 TVs.

Sure, that's reality...

I did not see videoload on the new Smart TV app gallery pictures anymore. Just maxdome is left there ...

Hopefully they will do a much better job.

Once maxdome is there, videoload might have more pressure. I mean, why should one connect the PC to the TV or even buy a set-top box for videoload, if you can rent the same movie in another store?

So videociety is there and before I use maxdome or videoload, I will check videociety...

i think these screenshots show only some kind of "how it could look like" - some intermediate version...

Not a final one...

Sure the Smart-TV pictures show only, how it could look like, but there is also a picture with a collection of Smart-TV apps:

This picture of Smart-TV apps is linked from this german press release on the right side:

This is a collection of apps, videoload is not shown any more, but maxdome is shown since this years ifa.

The press release says, that maxdome will provide vod service. But I know, we had such a thing with videoload one year before.
