40PFL6626H/12 and HD movie over usb

Hy,
J bought this tv, but I'm disappointed because J can't watch HD movie greater than 4GB over USB. Everything works fine except for this. Is it possibe to fix this problem? Please don't tell me that's only solution is to buy some HMP boxes :)

what do you mean exactly with "can't watch" - what does the TV say if you try to start a movie greater than 4GB? Maybe your files (> 4 GB) have unsupported codecs...

I don't know now exactly what TV says, but I will check. I tried to watch movie, .mkv file , size 6.5GB

This model does not support NTFS, that's why you cannot playback files of more than 4GB.

Yes, I can watch smaller files (< 4 GB) from the same HDD (.mkv, .avi with .sub, .srt). It works.

Then it's probably jsut a codec issue. Maybe you have to convert the sound track to AC3.
Also, you could try to split the file up into smaller ones with mkvtoolnix

Sorry, my mistake, I thought your TV was a 5000 range for some strange reason...

As matthias says, probably the bigger files have a DTS audio track or a profile 5.1 (both things are not supported by the TV) and the solution is to convert to AC3 (Dolby) or download the file with the AC3 audio track.
