Hi.

I got pictureproblems with the BD-disc Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. Theres a lot of framedrops in the movie. The movie is using some kind of "branching" for the extra "Maximum Movie Mode" and i think the player have some problem reading this and the framedrops occurs regarding if you dont use this future at all. I have reading some forums and there seems to happen to players from Philips and Oppo. (Same manufactors that have the problem with the ext cut of Aliens)
I have change the BD-disc twice in the local store with the same result , in 3 different players from Philips.

Edit: i dont use"maximum Movie mode". Just want to watch the movie,

Did you put the EAN code somewhere already so they can test it if possible.

Bye

I have a swedish version. EAN 5051895084212 but there are reports from UK already(release 2011-12-02 i think) and Germany as well. (Se Topic for BDP 7000) More reports is incoming in different Swedish forum and the player seems to be different models of Philips, Oppo and Cambridge so far.

I have been in a store and testing the movie on Panasonic and Sony with no problems. We ask the Store if we could try 2 models of Philips and it was ok to do that. I dont remember the models (probebly 2800..) but the problems occur again with a lot of framedrops in timestamps that are mension in this thread. There is no doubt that Philips cant handle to read this movie.
I hope for a new firmware as fast as possible or i have to get rid of our players and buy a new from another brand.

I wrote about the same problem in my topic in the BDP8000 series. Some other italian users confirm the little "jumps" every 3-4 minutes.
It is quite evident that something in the Philips firmware (but also Cambridge and Oppo) makes the problem.

No respons..
Due the lack of respons from Philips, im now going to replace my 3 Philips BD-player. I have borrow a Panasonic BDT-110 from the store and Harry P is working like a charm. Also Walking dead, that i also have read about in this forum. Even the Alien Anthology Dir cut, that i contacted Philips in Sweden about, for 1 year ago and i havent heard a word since, is working fine. No zoomed picture in the corner like when im using our Philips players.

I also contacted them almost a year ago about the Alien Anthology zooming problem. They still didn't fix it.

I contacted the italian customer service.
They told me that other blurays in the past had similar problems (i.e.: Terminator Salvation) and they were fixed. Philips checks this forum and is aware of the problem. In about 2 months a new fw will probably be released for this purpose.
I hope so.
I suggest you contact your local Philips customer service by phone (it's free) to be sure they manage the problem.

Hi Peson,

With the link I was indicating the following. Please keep in mind that these test will take some weeks, from ordering date to the actual testing.

Kind regards,

Thanks for the input. I will keep that in mind.
I contacted Warner in Sweden today and they have heard about the issues with the latest Harry Potter movie but they redirected me straight to Philips to find a solution.
I hope for one very soon.
