indeed, no software listed on the support website (here) (http://www.philips.nl/c/draadloze-muzieksystemen-voor-meerdere-kamers/streamium-mci298_12/prd/nl/?t=support)

Hi ChefChaudart,
it's completely useless for you to contact your local call center. The MCi298 has SERIOUS issues (and probably all the streamium serie devices have this kind of problems) and all of them are caused by a very bad software implementation. There are dozens of problems (loss of connection, loss of touch screen funcionality, random resets, screen garbage, random beeps from the device even when the device is turned off etc.) and if you check the old support site (streamiumcafè) you'll discover that this problem affects all the users, it's not a hardware fault. And I find disrespectful that philips staff tries to lead the user to believe that he has a defective product (and this would lead to months of time wasted with local repair services) instead of fixing the firmware that is not updated anymore. The funny part is that it would take less than a week to fix these problems from Philips side but probably the MCi298 sold so bad that they don't even want to pay a week of work of a junior software engineer to fix the problem...(and I'm a software engineer so I know what I'm talking about).

Sorry but with this kind of customer support there won't be no more Philips products in my house.

Gastel

As I said in OP "... and as many users mentioned in previous forum ..."

Anyway, I let a mail to support, and you know what ? 7 days after ... no response from Philips. ( They claim 4 days answer )

I did that cause someone from Philips here told me to do it ! But I have to agree 200% to what you say
I experienced all dysfunctions you mentioned in you (long) list.

I cannot believe that a such big company as Philips isn´t able to issue corrections quickly ...

People passing here to have an idea on MCI298, wait for a release of a stable firmware !!! Do not buy it now !

Hi Philips,

after that "keep the guys quiet" release before Christmas 2011 nothing has happened aside from some new pc software which is useless with a brick like the MCi298. Will there be a real fix for the problems that are still unsolved or do you just for us to die?
