Put all you see on your PC simply on your TV with JOINTSPACE. With the new software release 26.76 for 2009 Philips TV's they are compatible with Jointspace. Also your Nintendo DS or your Iphone can interact!
see this YouTube movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IMvJb9lyDI)

More info here (http://jointspace.sourceforge.net/index.html)

Who is using this? What are you doing with it? Help us to do it too!

hi Johnny,
on the jointspace website there are examples for applications that can be used.
one of them is desktop sharing, this is really great.

for this you have to enable jointspace option in your tv.
take care that tv and your pc are connected to same router.
then just start the program (bat-file) and your desktop is shared on tv.

Hello guys,
Did you manage to enable jointspace? I've tried with my remote control entering 5646877223 (="jointspace"), but without success.
I tried during watching TV - but during entering program channels were changing - I don't know if it is OK. I also tried during watching DVD, Computer, NET TV, but always without success. 'Jointspace enabled' screen never appears, and jointspace apps don't work.

Please help!

Dear Robert, which TV model do you have and with which SW version?
I understood that this only works on 2009 models (xxPFLxxx4x/xx)....

Dutchtronic, please don't tell me that ;-(
I have 40PFL7605H/12 and SW 000.075.060.001.
I learnt from this page (http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/jointspace/index.php?title=Remote_Applications_Development) that it should work also on 2010 models (mine either).
Am I wrong?
Thanks.

So, where can one find out which Tv sets actually are JointSpace enabled or when they will be so? It says 2010 7000-series should be enabled, but my 42PFL7665H/12 does not react when I input the 56......and so on.
I would really like to use the app on iPhone, especially the type function:)

Dear Igge,

- 2k9 models (xxPFLxxx4) support jointSPACE since software version 26.76
- 2k10 models (xxPFLxxx5) will support jointSPACE from software 140.23 onwards

All about jointSpace can be found here (http://jointspace.sourceforge.net/index.html) and here (http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/jointspace/index.php?title=Remote_Applications_Development).

Dear Steve,
It should work on your TV with that SW version. Don’t forget that you first have to enable the set for jointSPACE by entering the following digit sequence on your RC: "5646877223”.
After this, the JS logo will flash for 1 or 2 seconds on the screen, indicating that it has been enabled.

A new version (1.2) of the iPhone app is released, with main improvements being:

Added compatibility from iOS 3.0 onwards
Added cursor under the keyboard so browsing Net TV is even easier.

Use this app (http://itunes.apple.com/nl/app/wifi-tv-remote/id389423034?mt=8) on your Apple product for controlling your TV and even as keyboard for Net TV!.
Note: jointSPACE must be enable on your TV (see elsewhere in this forum).

Thanks for the jointspace support plus app! I loaded the app to my iPad and it worked immediately. While testing the app I identified some features to be improved/added:
- allow for customizeable sets of buttons, each set of buttons to be individually placed like the icons on the iPad desktop. This would help to use a single interface for one peripheral ( e.g. one for a hts, one for a DVD player, one for a camera) or nettv or tv
- support easylink through jointspace

Hello all!
Jointspace looks great but it forum on sourcefoge is not very active... Probably here cab i find answers.

I think that jointspace can be enchanced by creating a computer application that decodes IPTV and shows content on TV screen. I found such decode programs on sourceforge.
There is probably a performance issues while showing streaming video from LAN. Can anybody confirm this? Is this idea realizable at all?

Anoter idea is instantly showing video from IP-camera where there was motion detected (this already is implemented in most cameras).

Are these ideas interesting for Philips?

Hi,

I like to try out jointspace, but I am a simple consumer. How must I install these JointSpace applications once I downloaded them.
The fisrt download link in the list gives a zip file, the second a screen with unprintable characters.
I can unzip them, but then it stops. Should I first download the SDK ?

Thanks

Hi,
I like to try out jointspace, but I am a simple consumer. How must I install these JointSpace applications once I downloaded them.

To use jointspace your TV must support them. Check your firmware release notes about support. Also it must be activated via remote control (you should press digit buttons to get the word "jointspace" (a-la mobile phone with T9). If you press the buttons in correct order you should see joinspace logo on TV screen for the short time. Then you can use it via LAN.
After you run a program from extracted zip file you should immediately see it's activity and can play with them.
Any special installing nor SDK downloading is not required, just run extracted program.

Thanks for your answer. The TV part I understood.
My question was about the pc side. What/How to install these apps ?

I downloaded & extracted the zip files, but cannot find any exec/bat/'... in them.
I tried Plugitt & tvremote.
So, how to install these ? First download the SDK ?

No, you do not need SDK! You need SDK to write your own programs, of course.
Pluggit works perfect and inside zip file there is a 1280x720xRGB16_autodetect.bat
Simply run it and it immediately works.
Maybe your dowloaded zip is broken? Give me a source link, i verify them.

Hi Avia,

This is the download section on SourceForge:
http://jointspace.sourceforge.net/download.html
Here I downloaded the source file of pluggit, but it contains no bat file.
When I try the cygwin link, I get a screen with unprintable characters.

I also opened the zip file with 7-zip, but that makes no difference.

Hello,

I activated the JointSpace, applications work from my laptop, great.

But now I notice that the video's that I usually play from my server with Tversity do not go smooth anymore. Play-stop-play-stop, and before they went smoothly.

Could it be that JointSpace interrupts that or uses up bandwidth from the WLAN ?

How to de-activate JointSpace in order to check that out ?

In the docu there is only activation mentioned.

Yes, performance is not so good.
So i think i never get my IPTV dream though LAN and jointspace... :(
Maybe in newer models, in newer architectures but not now...

I have loaded the Pluggit software and activated Jointspace. I can see the 'Jointspace activated' message etc. However my PC - a laptop in my case - content is not replicated to the tv.

They are on the same router, the tv via ethernet, the laptop wifi.

However, my desktop running WMP is on another router.

Any assistance appreciated to solve this? Which option on the home menu should be active.... I use Satellite STB for Sky content, and Nettv for apps and internet.

Thanks in anticipation.

Can you pls tell me which option on Home you are using when Pluggit is operating? Also the sequence to activate... run Pluggit on the pc, then do the 'activate' on the remote, or the other way?

And, to activate, do you just run the file called 1280....bat?

Only with TV remote apps it creates the square with the IP adress of the TV in the top and on the DOS box it is repeating. But it will not go further.

Hi, no, not as far as I know. Is there a way to find out if I have a firewall blocking?
If you have Windows then it may be Windows builtin firewall. Go to control panel and locate firewall app. Then swith firewall off.

No special sequences. The following conditions must be met: jointspace activated via remote control, firewall on PC\laptop is not blocking traffic and you simply ran this 1280...bat.
It should work immediately.

yes - it is the same like the activiation method. Just type fast the number combination (jointspace) in TV-mode. A logo with "jointspace disabled" will appear for 2 seconds.

However, you could also read this forum. This question was already answered.

I successfully tested jointSPACE samples under MS Windows 7 with my 32PFL7605H/12.

Unfortunately most of the jointSPACE samples give various errors when compiled under GNU/Linux. Probable it's because of lacking of some necessary libraries?
I even started a topic in the jointSPACE forum at sourceforge.net about Linux (https://sourceforge.net/projects/jointspace/forums/forum/1020525/topic/4393697), but nobody replied yet. :-(

I have also tried to led the TV create a shortcut for downloading the new software.

Hi,

the "autorun.upg" must be in the root of your USB stick...

Factory Default = only settings of your TV will be set to default.

Jointspace also works over ethernet with 7000series from 2010 on my side.

I works so long as you are connected to same router. I use it that way so shouldn't be a problem

In my case, jointspace works only if I provide the TV IP. Jointspace is unable to locate the TV automatically.

ok.. which Parameters to use ? to define TV IP ?

Hi,
I successfully enabled jointspace on my 46PFL9705H/firmware:00.140.046.000 (most recent, dated 2012-jan-03). The flashing images stated 'enabled'.
The device is reachable within my lan.
nmap -A -T4 my-ip-address even revealed two open ports (in 2k and 40k range)

The connection to http://my-ip-address:1925 is still refused.

What do I need to do to get this up and running?

Hi,

what do you want to "run"?

Thanks for the quick response.
Basically, to get access to jointspace; a http request to http://my-ip-address:1925 is still refused (either a wget or a more graphical request thru a webbrowser).
Port 1925 is still not accessible. Probably nothing is listening on it. (no firewalls between TV and pc, so it is not closed)

is jointspace not on port 2323?

According to http://jointspace.sourceforge.net there is a http listener on 1925 available?

Hi,

yeah - but only for 2011 models - you have a 2010 TV ;-)

Is that for real? Such a differentiation between 2010 and 2011?

Thank for the reply. Apparently this http will not be available for me.

I seem to be having the same problems that some other users have. I have a 55PFL5706/F7. Its a 2k11 device so I would assume that it is jointspace capable. I input "5646877223” with my remote and every time I end up on channel 135 for whatever reason.

type in faster.

matthias

actually, type slower/press the keys until you see they were recognized.
If you end up with channel 135, it looks like some keys were transmitted wrongly.

I noticed that too - when I press a key only very briefly, it seems sometimes wrong keys are received by TV.

Try enabling jointspace in an HDMI input (where channel numbers have no effect).

What about 2323 port? Can be used for API over HTTP? Does exists an API? If not, will be implemented on 2010 models?

Toengel

Hi,

the JSON functionality is not available on 2010 TV - so, no port 2323. And from my point of view we won't get an update to implement JSON

Not JSON, but some kind of API over HTTP? I suppose that can be implemented, an webserver that interpret the commands..

I don't think there is any hope for anything new regarding 2010 models. Not even for the models that come out towards the end of 2010...

It is a pity that Philips' TV are cut-off from recent development so easily. Even from simple software stuff, like jointspace.

Hi Petasis,
How do you enable jointspace from a hdmi input?

petasis

You select an HDMI input, and using the remote you enter "5646877223".

Something should be listening on the TV ... I am using the iPhone app with a 2009 (?) model, i.e. 8404. The app works over wifi and can control many things on the TV. Reading the press-release of the iPhone app it also mentions that is using JoinSpace on the TV however I cannot open a webpage on port 1925....

Correct it is; I am not saying it is on older models ;-) However here is the deal, if you do have Jointspace enabled you can still do all the fancy stuff with the API, only you cannot read the docs from your TV... but the API can be found on the internet anyway, so no deal breaker here. I managed to overlay an image, square, text and use input feedback from the TV all with the application JSTx (created by Sander Raaijmakers, great app!).

My TV is a 2010 model and has no port 1925 but I managed to upgrade so Jointspace is available, enabled and accessible!

My TV is model 32PFL9604H/12 (upgraded to firmware 000.026.078.000 (https://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?tmplt=ePlatform%20-%20Philips&scy=NL&slg=NLD&sct=LCD_TV_SU&cat=TV_CA&session=20101024074615_95.36.45.168&grp=SOUND_AND_VISION_GR&ctn=32PFL9604H/12&mid=Link_Software&hlt=Link_Software)).
I can start Jointspace remote applications (those in Sample section (http://jointspace.sourceforge.net/download.html)). They do work (graphically) :o but I have a (maybe stupid) question: why NONE of them provide SOUND back to the TV ?
Even if I use the remote app called 'Mp3Play', I only get the graphic sound visualization on TV but the sound only comes out (with many hitches...) from my laptop.
And when I try the game emulators 'Emu...' I have to play the game (on TV, using TV remote control) in complete silence :(!
Is that the way it's supposed to be (maybe because I have a TV model 2009)? Or what am I doing wrong ?

Have a look here, post 14:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/jointspace/forums/forum/1020525/topic/3738697

It seems sound (and also video) is not (yet?) supported through Jointspace.

As a workaround, you could try to remotely start DLNA A/V playback through UPnP, which will give you sound and video.

I haven't tried however, if it's possible to overlay a remoteJointspace app over the DLNA player, to e.g. control the source, but you might get a limited set of source controls through UPnP

Thanks a lot for the quick reply! That explains a lot. The suggested post is dated back in 2010: I hope that sound support won't take much longer before it comes finally available (hopefully :p). I'll monitor that forum as well from now on.

Glad it helped :-)
There is another page you might be interested, which basically provides remoteJointspace Access through a commandline tool:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jstx/

For 2011 TVs, a patch is(was?) necessary:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3534022&group_id=510325&atid=2074633

This seems to work quite well, beside occasionally loosing focus (e.g. due to TV reboots or when HbbTV is enabled).
Unfortunately, I don't know a way to permanently keep receiving remote inputs, to reenable a lost focus.

Hi there!
Sorry for reopening this thread, but I have the 42PFL6805H-12 TV with firmware Q55XX_0.140.46.0 which should make this model compatible with Jointspace.

But I don't seem to get it enabled with the keycode, no matter what I try (slow, fast), it just switches channels. Via HDMI nothing happens either.

Does anybody have another way (via USB?) to enable jointspace, it's driving me mad...

thanks
hendrik
