05-APR-'13: NEW!!!

You will find an overview of all Apps here: http://appsontv.nettvservices.com/

Click on "Apps on TV" and explore all apps on Smart TV. Find out which apps are live on your device.

Or click on "Country overview" to see which apps are launched aimed for your specific country. Note: You can use apps from every country, however some Video On Demand apps are geo-restricted due to distribution rights.

Below a list of available services of Philips Net TV. (Status August 31)
Explore your TV and try them all. (Change your country settings to find them)
Net TV is expanding with new services almost weekly!

...
RadioTime
...

Note:
Availability is different per device (2009 TV, 2010 TV, or BluRay player).

Hallo,
I am from Italy and my TV is a 37PFL7605, but I can't see the RadioTime service on my NetTV.
I tried different countries (Italy, Netherland, Germany, Danmark, ...) but I have never found it.

My TV firmware is up to date, and I already tried to cancel the NetTV memory.

I am interested to listen a german radio (Radio Antenne Bayern) on NetTV and I think RadioTime could be useful for this, the problem is that I can't find this service.

Can you help me, please?

Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for your post. Nice to have people from Italy on board....
You are right: some audio streaming services (like e.g. Radiotime or Radio538) that run on our 2009 TV's (xxPFLxxx4x/xx) are not functioning yet on our 2010 TV's (xxPFLxxx5x/xx). This is meant to be fixed in the foreseeable future.

Thanks for your kind and prompt answer, but... Just the audio streaming services I need do not work, and on the new TV's! :(

Anyway, I hope I will know when you fix this on 2010 TV's (I use to check the Philips firmware download page at least once in a week).

Ciao!

Anyway, Radiotime and other audio streaming services now work on 2010 TV sets.
Good job, Philips!

Net TV is frankly a car crash.

Sorry Philips but in the UK we expected when we bought a Philips TV to be able use the major UK TV channel on-demand services. We can use these services on our laptops so why not on our TV?

Because Philips refuses to accept that they need to provide a Flash enabled browser. This simple step will change Philips Net TV from 'mostly useless' to 'quite good actually'.

C'mon Philips get your act together, we have already given you our money, now give us what we foolishly thought we were going to get when we bought the product.

NetTV is very poor.
Philips has to rethink the strategy for NetTV and do something like Apple Store or Android Market and let the users create apps.
I'm from Portugal and here there is no app associated with Portugal.
Samsung an LG Portuguese have many apps.

Fully agree. I Spain Net TV is also very poor and other manufacturers like Samsung and LG are promoting this kind of service very well.

If you add to this the problems playing flash videos throught the TV web broser, this makes this feature simply useless.

Dear Philips,

when is planned the next firmware relaese to "unlock" all the defective Apps in the italian NET TV portal?

I was using a couple of them several times before the 140.46 firmware installation :(
and now I'm without them.

Not what I expected from a Philips product.

I pushed the boat out and bought a 42PFL9664H/12 TV in 2010 which was 1300 at the time (even more in many stores). Part of the reason for this was that I had faith in Philips as a brand and believed their Net TV would be the best out there. I've just contacted Philips about the lack of apps on this model - in particular iplayer. Their response was that I'd need to look at a new model as iplayer has only been developed for their new range and isn't backwards compatible.
It seems that Philips only looks to the future and can't even support a Tv that's 2 years old.
I rarely use Net TV as even apps like Youtube are really slow, I would say though that the HD picture on this set is better than any TV i've seen and it's great for wirelessly streaming videos from my PC.

I must agree with Gonzo below. I have recently purchased a Designline Smart TV and been disappointed with the utility of the browser and the available NetTV apps.

If the browser cannot support streaming movies etc then NetTV apps must be updated to include each "on-demand" terestrial service (i.e. 4OD, ITV on demand) which is often included with much cheaper TVs. Lovefilm and Netflix are also key providers of online entertainment and should be added to the available apps (other providers of Smart TVs have these apps).

Regards

Jack

Hi, I have my settings for the Netherlands (and living there) but can't find some of the Apps listed for my PFL6007. E.g. SBS6 or PSV, I just cant find them in the AppGallery. But was able to find and use e.g. RTL gemist and do see RTV Oost or the new 18+ apps.

Are the missing Veronica and Net5 apps not yet available on some of the 2012 models, or am I doing something wrong here?

Greetings, I am new, and this is my first post.
I am from FYR Macedonia

Want to ask few things about Philips 42PFL8007H mine

1. Is the 200hz motion rate native for 1920 resolution
Or 200 applies for lower resolutions ?
2. Can I use wireles keyboard and mouse for writing and internet (how to do it)
3. Can I use skype for video calls (how) and Can I check Hotmail mail?
4. This is most important for me.
What wolud be the best way to write and edit big txt documents on Philips and than save it. Only simple texts.
Or can I write text and save it on usb stick, and later open in on PC in MS Word ?
I want to write with Cirilic Support (is it possible)
I would be VERY HAPPY if it is possible to use only my TV and Keyboad, for writing txt, without use of PC
And later I would open it in MS Word in my PC and print it

Thank you
If you have already discussed this, pls send me link

This doesn't belong in this thread but..

The 200hz motion rate is a simulation of 200hz, the actual hz should be at 50 or 60, the tv creates more images to simulate the higher refresh rates, this can make the image look choppy, it works great on some tv's after some optimizing but most people just turn it off.

Don't know about 2, 3 & 4, google might be helpful!

Not all apps that are available on the consumer models will be available on the hospitality models (like for example VOD services will not be available).
