Will there be an software update for the 40PFL8664H so that I can use Smart TV on this model?
The most common function I'm looking for is recording.

Hi,

USB recording depends also on hardware, which is only present on 2011 models (xxPFLxxx6)... You might get the new Net TV interface when it's done...
