Streamed some .avi file to my Philips and whilst on the whole the picture was not too bad it did break up quite often

I have a video convertor which can convert any video format to any other - incl frame rate, screen size, format (.wmv . mp4 , divx etc)

Just wondering what would be best video format to stream to Philips?

If you look at the xls sheet in this thread: http://www.supportforum.philips.com/en/showthread.php?1067-Supported-CODEC-overview-for-ALL-models-(TV-HTS-and-Blu-ray)

Then you can find out the best container to use together with which codec.

But it seems that the best are:
* mkv file with h.264 and AAC audio
* wmv
* mp4 with AAC audio
* MPEG2 (TS and MPG)

I prefer mkv since it is a very flexible container to manipulate (add / remove / re-code ) audio.
It also allows you to add subtitbles etc (Which is not supported in the TV...)

Ofcourse you have to start from a good source, if your avi files are PAL resolution and not HD then no conversion software can help you.

The same is ofcourse true for the framerate, sound, etc...
