Hello I'm a proud user of Philips 40PFL9705H LED 3D TV!

I want to know which active 3D glasses are the best one to buy?

So far I've found these two:
Philips PTA02 - and - Philips PTA516

Any ideas or testing of which are the best to buy even if it's not mentioned here?

Thanks in advance!

I also have the buzzing sound on 3 PTA516.
Will this be part of some callback action when the new glasses have been released?

Hi,

the productions of the new glasses should start this week (this is what I heard). One can differentiate them by reading the serial on the glasses - they should have a "V3" at the end. This is what the support told someone in a german forum...

I will have to wait until my BDP5200 has been returned from the repair to see if the buzzing is anoying when watching a whole movie...

Hi,

as far as I know the new glasses are already produced. Call you local Philips service and ask for a replacement.

Hi

maybe something not to mix up.
There is no NEW Model as a replacement for PTA516.
What you will get is still a PTA516 but one that has been build in the last Weeks.

Maybe thats somehow confusing to speak about new Models with the Call Centers.

Thomas

Hi,

I have spoken to many CS reps in Philips and they have advised me that a new batch is coming outbut they don't know exactly the ETA. They advised to either buy the product from amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=philips+pta516&x=0&y=0
or to wait and call back in two weeks to get an update regarding delivery. I would rather wait for the new batch to come out, were the buzzing issue will be hopefully fixed.... To be continued...=D

Are you talking about the Philips Active 3D glasses PTA517 (http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/p/pta517_00/pta517_00_pss_eng.pdf)?

I am also considering to buy 3D glasses for my new TV as I'll get next week...
I have ordered Philips 55PFL5527T/12 (http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/5/55pfl5527t_12/55pfl5527t_12_pss_aen.pdf)...

I've tried to search for 3D glasses PTA517 on the net/google/ebay but found no one sells these...
Do you have any idea from where I can buy accessories for Philips TVs...

Can I use Active 3D glasses from other manufacturers?
Have any of you experience with other brands that we can use with Philips LED 3D TVs?

Actually, I'm getting tired of this forum since no one bothered to answer or help someone here...
It should have been someone from Philips that should have helped those people who are looking for help here...

I'm using the glasses that came with the 55pfl7606. They work very good.
And the glasses I got from the cinema also works good, it says Real3D on them.

Hi

your TV (55pfl5527T) have 3 different 3D glasses you can use:
- PTA517
- PTA516 (http://www.philips.co.uk/c/televisions/for-3d-max-tvs-pta516_00/prd/;jsessionid=86430B5A2A53EB310D945EC20BAEC045.app10 2-drp1)
- PTA507

You should be able to get these from the electronic shop where they sell Philips TV's.

Hi,

ahh - a new mod from Philips ;-)

Problem is, that most shops cannot provide these glasses - for weeks and months... Some people are waiting since 2011 for glasses.

Shops that sells our 2011 and 2012 models should either have these 3D glasses or be able to order them in for you. :)

I can confirm this for germany too. Most retailers canīt sell them because they canīt order them because thereīs a supply shortfall. Even Amazon needs 4 up to 6 weeks for delivery: http://www.amazon.de/Philips-PTA517-00-Aktiv-Brille-Umschaltm%C3%B6glichkeit/dp/B007R56N9S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336745867&sr=8-1

Hi, I've a 46PFL9705 TV with the original PTA02 glasses. The cross-talk is horrendous!!!

I'm thinking to buy the Xpand X104 Universal 3D glasses just to reduce the crosstalk. Has anyone tried them? Are they any better than the PTA516 / PTA517?

Will the X104 or PTA517 give me an improvement on what I have now with the PTA02?

Which ones do you recommend for least crosstalk / ghosting?

Hi Thomas,

Please help me on this one. I got a new Philips Cinema Platinum (58PFL9956H/12) TV. The enclosed active 3D glasses PTA516 produce an annoying buzzing noise. I checked the serial and there is no V3 at the end of the serial number. What is the best way to get those glasses replaced by the improved PTA516 glasses? Whom can I contact best? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Hi,

the new V3 indication is only inside the glasses - not on the box. But if you find some in a shop you can read the production week from the serial - if you have one from may 2012 it should be a new one.

But if you call service, they should send you new ones without buzzing sound.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your quick reply. Do you mean on the glasses or inside the glasses? My glasses have a small sticker with the serial number on the left side of the glass. Is this the one you reffer to?

Toengel

Hi,

yes - it's a sticker on the glasses itself - at least this is what I read from somebody who owns a V3.

Hi guys,

This is how the serial on my glasses looks like:

http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/7274/img1675c.jpg

I did some research today and at the local MediaMarkt, they sell the improved PTA516 glasses, the v3 is printed on the left side of the glass:

http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/8770/img1690t.jpg

I had a chance to test them and they are quiet, no buzzing noise. They also seemed to show less ghosting, but I only tested them briefly.
