46PFL9706T/12 Flashing red light behind the screen.

Today I noticed a flashing red light behind the screen of my new TV, PHILIPS 46PFL9706T/12, why is it flashing?
Is it normal or is something wrong with the TV?

The flashing light comes from some kind of red lamp under the plastic cover behind the screen. See enclosed picture. The TV is working fine even though the red lamp is flashing.

The LED indicates that the Mainboard of the TV is powered. (Like in a PC).

Hi Thomas!

Thank you for the answer. I never noticed the red light behind the screen when I installed the TV, maby because it was daylight, so I was surprised when I saw it yesterday evening. It´s good to know it´s just a powerindicator for the motherboard.
