Hi,

Model SA3ARA16K/37, firmware 2.06 (as of 2012-02-04)

When browsing the album list, or in the mp3 playing screen. A dimmed version of the cover image of the current album becomes the background wallpaper. This is very annoying as some cover has many details features. When the normal text is displayed in overlay on top of that cover background, this makes the reading a little bit harder.

Worse yet, as each album has a different image, so the background is changed accordingly whenever the album changes. The user must adjust constantly to distinguish the useful text (the text of the album title or the track information in the playing screen) on that varying background.

Is there a way to disable this background effects? (like in the Ariaz2 models). Or better yet, is there a "No Theme" option to make the background always black?

this cannot be set in the device as far as i know...
this can be disabled in the songbird...
right click on the tracks (multiple tracks) in songbird> view metadata > uncheck album art > sync again to your device

Thanks for your help but I NEED the album cover. The problem I described was that the album cover is stretched to become the wallpaper. And on top of that wallpaper the real album cover is displayed and other textual info in overlay.

The real issue is that it takes resources and time to parse the cover to make it a background. In firmware before v2.x, this even locks the device which must be routinely reset. All of that "hard work" is totally unnecessary because it only contributes to confusion. When browsing the album list, each time you land on an album title, there is a different background. This is a schizophrenic effects which reflect a childish design. Wasting time to do useless stuffs while there are many more important bugs to fix, for example Go back to album list or make Fast Forward really fast.

If ever you have the opportunity to try an Ariaz3 model, you will see what I mean.
