Audio connection quality - Toslink optical or HDMI ARC?

I recently added an HTS9221 to my television set. I currently use an HDMI connection between the TV and the Home Cinema set for both video as well as audio. Both the HTS9221 have a TosLink optical port. Will sound performance improve when adding an optical connection for audio? Or is HDMI audio comparable to Toslink audio?

the Toshiba link is comparable to S/Pdif's quality .

HDMI is better!
