(v1.63) includes the following changes:

• Fixes the stuttering playback issues found on the Blu-ray disc Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

Version 1.60 fixes the following issues:

• Fixes the issues found on the following Blu-ray discs:
o HBO True Blood Season 3, unintended graphics in the Bonus feature menu Trueblood lines.
o Sherlock Holmes, intermittent narration in Live screening feature.
o Jumanji, unable to select subtitles from the Subtitle list.
• Add on-screen keyboard in NetTV for easier and better navigation.
• Add Tuneln FM in NetTV.
Version 1.56 fixes the following issues:
(1.56) is only released to (BDP7500B2/05, /12, /51,) (BDP7500S2/05, /12, /51, /93, /98), (BDP7550BL/12, /98), (BDP7550SL/12, /93, /98)
• Volume setting for multi-channel analog audio output does not work (via Setup > Speaker Setup menu).
• Audio distortion issue found on the certain audio CD’s when played back with Neo6 mode.
• Not able to format 8GB SD cards for the Video-on-Demand feature.
• Stuttering video on certain AVCHD discs.
• Playback of Avatar 3D in 2D mode.
Previous versions fixes the following issues:
• Catch-up TV (via NetTV feature) is enabled for Netherlands. (V1.53)
• Resolves an issue of video stuttering during disc playback while connected to a wireless network.(V1.53)
• Improves the playability of Avatar Extended Collector’s Edition discs.(V1.53)
• Minor corrections in Suomi menu language text.(V1.53)

But after the (german) update the player shows still "SW 1.60" in the version info. I tried the update a second time - same result. No errors during updating ...

thx Toengel - sorry, but the same issue with the "English" file - after successfully upgrading and starting new, the player says: it's still the 1.60 ...
Upgrading over network doesn't work ("no upgrade available").
Hope you have any ideas...

I'm just quoting Toengel from his own site:

This worked for me.
So in English: you should make your link end with ".zip?a=b" instead of just ".zip". This seems to bypass any caching problems.

My solution (don't know if it is the easiest....):
Go to the download link - copy the link with right mouse - paste the link adress in a new tab - delete all parts of the adress after ".zip" and add "?a=b" - enter- download

Hi,

with a parameter one can indicate a different link compared to the link without such parameter. Since "the web" don't know this link (with parameter) the browser do not try to download the link from some cache...


http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/b/bdp9600_12/bdp9600_12_fus_deu.zip => will download sometimes a file from cache

http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/b/bdp9600_12/bdp9600_12_fus_deu.zip?a=4 => since this link is unknown, the download will try directly from source

This weekend it was time for me for Harry Potter part 7 (and the Deathly Hallows part 1)!... I really enjoyed the movie! :)
I was still using firmware 1.53 at the time and I noticed a couple of hick ups in the picture: maybe 6 during the whole movie.

Afterwards I could finally check (in advance) the hick ups in the Deathly Hallows part 2. I saw that they looked exactly like the ones I noticed in DH1.
So now I updated to firmware 1.63 and of course the problems in DH2 are gone. But also those in DH1 are fixed! :D And... no new problems appeared, as far as I know, ;) so... Very happy indeed! Thanks Philips!

So without worries, next weekend it's DH2 time! :cool:
