Hi.
A few days ago i bought a BDP 3200.
On the Philips webpage and also in the shop (the salesman verify infos via webpage) i got the information, BDP 3200
plays wmv files.
But the one i have doesn´t show any file with the ending .wmv in the menu (of usb device) and doesn´t play them (if i rename them, movie.wmv > movie.wmv.avi).
It seems to me that there are (since the first player-release) so many different versions of the unit and also much changes in hardware. As the new design of the 3200 looks like the 3280 now, it seems to be also based on similar hardware (chipset).
Non of the newer 3xxx models declares wmv-playabilities under specifications. So my question would be - are the last releases of the BDP 3200 more a light-version of the previous 3200 ?
Am i right with my suggestion about an other chipset and so a firmware update wouldn´t help to get my wmv-files working on my player ?
Or is just something wrong with the one i bought ? Is there a newer firmware avaible ?
I´ve downloaded the latest firmware package for the 3200/12 and one of the 3 files is named 3200_M2.bin.
Under System-Infos my player says: BDP 3200M2/12 2.09 VB1Bxxxxx.
Any answer would be nice and helpful.
