Greetings,

I just found out about the very interesting BDP5500/12 (http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=en&scy=cz&ctn=BDP5500/12). In the leaflet it say it support Ogg Vorbis, which I think is wonderful as I have a few MKV files with vorbis audio. But when I downloaded and looked in the manual, there is no mention of Ogg Vorbis at all. So I wonder if it support Ogg Vorbis or not?

FLAC isn't mentioned anywhere, but it would be very nice if FLAC was supported too. Maybe a future firmware upgrade?

Hi Freddo,

For Ogg Vorbis, we just support it as stand alone file, and not encoded in MKV files. Hope this clarifies. Thanks.

Aww, that's unfortunate :(

Thanks for the answer though :)

Hi Freddo,

Apologies that I have neglected your FLAC query. For your BDP5500, since it's a 2012 model, it supports FLAC according to the codec table.

That's nice, thanks :)

Is there any chance to see support for ogg vorbis (and flac) within MKV/MKA files in a future firmware? Since they are already supported within other containers?
