Hi,

I was wondering whether any of you could help. I have an issue with my TV (I bought it approximately 2.5 years ago).

About 12 weeks ago and for no reason, the original remote control stopped working. We changed batteries but this made no difference. The odd button worked sporadically but not enough to rely upon so I bought a new universal remote from a well know electrical retailer. This control has also only worked periodically and is not very reliable (it is made by the company One for All).

I reported this to the place I purchased the TV from and they referred my to another company who told me a technician would call me to arrange a visit. Instead, nobody contacted me and a few weeks later, unexpectedly a cheap (very plasticy) remote control was sent to me as a replacement. Sadly, the same problems are occurring with this control. This leads me to believe that there is a problem with the TV.

I have cleaned the receiver on the TV and there are not visible problems on the screen or media box. We are also experiencing problems with the signal/reception and availability of channels and services. The indicator bar that appears on screen when changing channels keeps flickering on and off for no reason.

This may be because we have an internal aerial but this would not explain the problem with the remote controls. I am hoping you can help with some advice. Needless to say, we spent a great deal of money on this TV and 2.5 years down the line we were not expecting any such problems. My mother and father had a Grundig TV for 25 years without problem which cost a fraction of the price. I expect more from Philips.

Does anyone have any thoughts....

Cheers,

Nash

Hey dudes,

Just a quick update. I noticed that when I use the remote control the indicator on the media hub flashes red every time I press a button, but the TV/hub doesn't actually perform the action at the first time of asking. Sometimes it does not respond at all and has to be switched off from the mains.

Any words of advice would be really helpful.....

Thanks
