I have just purchased the HTS3531 and the USB on the DVD will only accept a FAT usb input..I cannot find any storage device that is FAT, FAT 32 YES...But not FAT.

Does anyone have any ideas how to combat this? There seems to be no programme that will convert down to a FAT file from FAT32.And as a result I cannot watch any of the files I have via the USB input which is very frustrating.

FAT32 should be able to play.
Just to answer your question - formatting your FAT32 USB to FAT>
1) plug in your USB to your PC
2) open "My computer"
3) right click on your USB drive
4) select "format..."
5) you should be able to format it from FAT32 to FAT
