I bought BDP2800 bluray player last year and have been wondering why it is missing a m3u-playlist support? It would be so useful and easy to implement; for example, my Philips TV already has the feature. It would be enough that the player is able to read the .m3u text-files created with PC. Would it be possible that this feature will be included in the next firmware update (it's nice when updates actually bring new features)?

Of course the best (more challenging for your developers) would be that the playlists could be created with the player. My old Sony DVB-T burning DVD-recorder made that possible, but limited the slots to 5x25 tracks with category naming. With usb-media there probably wouldn't be need to limit this.

i think this is a useful feature as well :) great suggestion
just that from the past experiences new features that are not promised beforehand are difficult to be added onto the current products... but they ll say they ll look into possibilities to include in the future ones... hope they consider this.

As a developer point of view, I doubt adding this feature would be difficult. Reading and parsing a file are basic things of programming. Though, adding a support in an embedded system might be a bit more challenging, but it happens all the time (especially PSP, Vita, PS3). Anyway, this would be an interesting first task for a summer trainee. Hopefully, they really consider this.
