ZDFmediathek Olympic games issues

Hello,

today I started to watch olympic games. The ZDFmediathek has a really advanced offering. You can watch nearly every sport live, as long as german athletes are there.

It is really great to watch the sports you want to watch the whole time and not only short cuts, mixed with other sports.

But the videos from the olympic games in the ZDFmediathek did not work for me on my side with the 2010 TV. Not sure about others, what is your experience? I just saw a black screen.

After some retries, I decided to use my laptop to watch. Also the app for the iPhone 4 did work quite well, not sure why the TV did have issues. It's really a pity to be unable to make full use of that advanced TV set.

Please post your experience with the model! Not sure, what I did wrong...

Would have been much better to have been watching that on my TV set. The display has a higher resolution and picture quality is much better!

on my (now 2011) TV, it really (I mean really) takes long to buffer the video... my router is working really hard to preload... try to wait some "minutes"... maybe it starts then...

Hi,

2012 model 5007K connection (with LAN) works more or less satisfying here.
Load times for buffering is 15 seconds.... BUT only in the tiny window.

When I key the blue button I get a grey full screen showing nothing else than the running ball row. The only return to a working screen is key *Home*

When I key the red button, it turns to nice full screen, even the button shows the power off sign.

Strange, ... so a Philips.

Hi,
I am using the BDP bluray player(with SmartTV) with a beamer.

ZDF Mediathek (in Germany) normally works without problems and it still does.

When selecting a Olympics live stream, after 30s or so there is an error message:

"Ihr Gerät unterstützt kein Live Streaming nach dem HbbTV Standard. ..."
translated: "Your device does not support live streaming according to HbbTV standard."

This is really annoying and not understandable :mad:.
Is there a difference between a recorded and a live stream played back from the ZDF server ?

Network is ok, so e.g. other devices are able to playback Olympia live streams.

I tried today and kept waiting for 30min. This is not working on my TV. I assume, the TV is a little picky regarding the http byte stream. I did some experiments with http byte stream to tunnel hd youtube content and the TV was always much more picky regarding settings.
