Hi,

@Philips @All

I have a question regarding the USB recording. How many minutes before the USB recording starts does the TV gears up?

Yesterday I switched off my TV some minutes before the recording start time. I then observed, that the USB-HDD and the network adapter were still on. When I then pressed again the standby button the TV was immediately on.

So the question is: how many minutes before the recording start time the TV goes in this mode?

Hi Toengel

If the TV is in Standby and you got a scheduled recording, the TV will start to write on the HDD when date and time is reached. But when the TV was set up for a recording the next day ( one off recording like a movie, documentary etc) then the TV will switch on ca. 3 - 5min before the scheduled time.

Interesting :)

I noticed a dispute recently when I tried the next day recording for two movies from different programs.
Case 1
#1 was lets say program 10 scheduled 8 pm to 9 pm
#2 was program 12 scheduled 9 pm to 10 pm.
Recording failed for #2 <no recording> :(

Case 2
Tried it similar with 2 movies in sequence on one program and this failed also.
#1 program 10 scheduled 8 pm to 9pm followed by
#2 program 10 scheduled 9 pm to 10pm
Recording failed for #2 <no recording>

Any option to rule out this problem ?
I think the lead in time is far to long with 3-5 minutes and should get a user choice to be setup.

Hi User0815

If you set the recordings to Automatic it will put on an extra 10 min (about) for pre/post time buffering/ overlap. And as program 1 was not finished by the time program 2 and prebuffering was going to start, it didn't start.

The way to get around this is to set it up manually.:
Open the IP EPG / program guide > Choose TV recordings at the TOP of the IP EPG interface > choose "Schedule recording" > then you can enter the specific details for:
1. channel
2. Date
3. Time

This will be including the pre/post time buffering so if you set recording program #10 to start at 7:59 and end at 8:58 and second recording on program #12start 8:59 and end at 9:58(or when the program finish), you will eb able to record them as recording 2 will not start before recording 1 finish.

Best Regards

I didn't notice this scheduled recording option link there on the left hand side before.
Only spotted the delete record link on the right side.
