Blu-ray 3200 and external HD

Hi everybody,

I have a Philips 3200 Blu-Ray player that doesn't recognize my external hard drive. It's a Fujitsu Storagebird 1TB formatted to NTFS.
My question is: is it because my HD is formatted to NTFS or is it because its volume is 1TB (i know some players can only read until a certain limit)?

other 2011 models i know can recognize up to 2TB HDD in NTFS format.

Does the hdd has it´s own power supply unit or is it powered over usb ?
