Hi!
I have a 42PFL6007T/12 on which DLNA does not work.
Initially it did work for one video, but after 30 seconds it suddenly stopped working and hasn't worked since.

What I have done:
1) The TV is connected by cable to the router and has a confirmed fast connection to internet (confirmed IP in TV settings, confirmed by TED talk SmartTV app streaming video, checked by pinging the TV and getting fast response, and by entering router and seeing that it can see the TV)
2) Have enabled all media sharing options available on windows and windows media player, temporarily turned off the antivirus and firewall, ensured that I have shared files in the media library
3) Can see my own computer in the network as a media device

What isn't working:
1) the TV can't find the media server (gets stuck on the first screen that says "switch on your computer and start the media server application...")
2) The computer can not see the TV in the network (despite that it can reach it when pinging)

Additional info
- TV: 42PFL6007T/12
- Software: QF1EU-0.133.4.0
- TV is plugged into router via network cable.
- Confirmed fast connection by pinging via computer connected to router (reply <2ms)
- Media server programme: Windows Media Player 12
- WNR3500L RangeMax Wireless-N Gigabit Router

I am now considering to return the TV in pure disappointment and frustration - despite my initial plan to post a positive review.. Could someone please advice me on what I ought to do?

Hi Swe_user.

If you're having windows media player 12 open, with the selected files you want to play on the TV, in the playlist section. You will see a little button over the playlist (right hand side) that looks like a hard drive wtih a green play button on (play to). Press this and wait for it to load. The playlist will then appear in the pop-up window. You will then see connecting to device and then "Philips TV NMP". This might take a few minutes depending on how many files and how big they are.

Please report back the result for this.

Best regards,
Benedickte

Hi!

As I responded previously in a PM, the DLNA has started to work and works now with intermittent random breaks seemingly not correlated to anything. When DLNA didn't work the green play button in WMP was grayed out. Now I simply browse the computer's contents on the TVs browse network function (without having to open WMP)

Kind regards

Have you tried using a programming like serviio?

It will stream any selected media from your PC to the TV, I have just got my pfl6007 working with it and now its running fine.

Although windows should stream OK I have never had any real success with it, serviio is free to download and use and I have found it to be better than the two paid for programs I also use. It also has the added bonus of transcoding incompatible file formats to a playable format on your TV.

I have found so far that both the Philips profile and the general dlna profile do not work well with this TV instead try the Samsung a series profile.

Thanks for the tip - much appreciated! I will try it out and see if it works better now
