DTR220/05 Freeview STB frequent freezing/hanging

I cannot find a specific sub-forum for STB's so here goes ...

My DTR220/05 Freeview STB has started freezing/hanging the picture and sound, usually for a 1-2 seconds each time, and as frequntly as 4-5 time a minute.

I have searched the Philips website, and that of Pace (the manufacturer according to the label on the device) to no avail.

There appears to be no new software available for the device.

Current software version is 1.65.24 dated June 16th, 2008.

Is there a new software or other fix available to correct this irritating problem?

I would advise you to contact Pace directly on 0800 0731 732.

Pace say:


Unfortunately this will not be due to software, you are either receiving a very poor signal from your aerial [All other TVs and STBsd work fine, and we have a signal booster, so this doesn't seem to apply] or (more likely) the set top box has developed a fault.

[...] if it is less than 12 months old you should return it to your supplier.


STB was purchased in October 2009, so it looks like it's replacement time.
