Thank you for the feed-back but this is a feature that was announced by Philips for this fall. The fall just started. I will add it if at the beginning of winter we will not have it.

i add suggestion from my experience from 42PFL6687H even if i don't know if it's the best place because it's not really bugs:

- Moving in the interface is REALLY slow and laggy even if there is a dualcore?
- no auto-switch on when a device start (like a TNT reciever)
- a shortcut to select "off, game, computer" because it take 2 mn to get it into the interface.

sry for my english.

yesterday my 8007 just switched on the motion feature by itself... it was off in the menu, so i had to turn it on/off in the menu to set it off. another thing is the remote wich works when it wants, sometimes i can adjust volume but not change channels from CH-/CH+.... this far the only good thing about this set is ambilight otherwise it's terryble, thinking of switching back to samsung.

--> UNSOLVED

- TV guide shows all >1000 channels, not just the favorites; TV guide not usable like this

*UPDATE*

- Video engine crashes on some video files, won't play any video files after that and neither picture from internal tuner or external HDMI sources will be shown any more, random display of greyed-out user prompts e.g. for configuring WLAN; can only be fixed by turning TV off an on again

some people are mentioning that for bug 23 you can solve that by "reinstalling" your TV.

I tried this, I used this "reinstall TV" option from the general menu settings, but didn't work for me, unless there is another factory reset option I don't know about

Hi,

I've recently received 46pfl8007. After assembling the stand I noticed the TV hangs askew on the stand . The left lower corner of the screen is about 2 cm lower then right side. There is no option to adjust horizontal alignment. I did find 1 or 2 other forum posts about this elsewhere but I was just wondering if anyone on here has/had a similar problem and if/how they have fixed this?

(btw, sorry if this is not the correct thread for this issue but I can't find the 'new thread'-button anywhere )

On my 6007 you can adjust the horizontal alignment on the base of the stand, there are two stands/screws you can adjust to level it out - I don't know if its the same on the 8007 though - have a look in the stand assemble instructions mine had the details in there

Hi Mrb,

Thanks for the hint! Indeed, for the 6007 the manual mentions those screws but unfortunately for 8007 it doesn't.

http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/5/55pfl8007k_12/55pfl8007k_12_qsg_nld.pdf

However, I will check it on my TV tonight if they're after all. U never know... I must say, that in case they're present, I doubt I will be able to correct this much of deviation without introducing visible askew in the floorplate of the stand. (NB: my TV dressoir is 100% levelled...;))

Thanks anyhow!

Hi, I've replied here yesterday as well, got the notice my post would be showing on the page after approval from a moderator, but until now it's not visible. The stand of 8007-model unfortunately hasn't got adjustment options.

However, I got in touch with Philips Costumer Care today and they're going to send me a new stand, and I don't have to return the old one. Good service!

I added bug 18 - remote not working and updated bug 17 to solved.

What is the description of this bug 18 ?
We bought 42PFL6007H/12 last week (firmware 3 Sept 2012) and have also problems with remote control.
In the beginning it worked but after a while it doesn't react on any key except the zero key.
But then you will get a message from TV that this channel isn't installed.
And when i use the remote control from our old TV 32PFL7605H we can control the TV. But the red led on TV doesn't react on the one supplied with TV. Already replaced batteries but no success.
Is this what others also see ? Otherwise we want to exchange the remote control with a new one.
Or can this remote control be 'resetted' ?

Hi EricD.

The latest software version for your TV is 150.48.13 that was updated 30. October. this can be found on the support page.

Please re-pair the remote to the TV. Keep RC near Philips logo and press red and blue buttons at the same time. See this link (http://goo.gl/mxNRC) for more info

Please also see this link (http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/cpindex.pl?scy=de&ctn=55PFL6007K/12&slg=AEN&dct=FAQ&refnr=0078530&session=20121101144408_80.254.147.236&searchtext=remote) for more help with your remote control.

When you're pressing the buttons and TV doesn't react, can you hear any clicking sound?

Best regards,
Benedickte

As per Benedikte request I made in BOLD the unsolved bugs. It is refreshing to see that Philips really solved some of the most annoying bugs. Some of the remaining bugs are Romania located - 4,10,17 - some are solvable by user - 16 - disconnect the second HDD, 23 - possible to be solved by re installing the TV set.

Keep up the good work Philips!

I found some issues on a 42pfl6007h, software version QF1EU-0.150.48.13 (latest available on 25-12-2012):

1. When switching from scart to HDMI (1) the sound is still coming from scart, not from HDMI (1) when no audio is send by HDMI device.

2. Much apps don't exit by using the back button, they stay running for example, uitzending gemist (by pressing red button) and videoland apps do this.

3. Ambilight is not working in 3D mode (dual player side by side mode, I use this for some video's in 3d)

4. User interface is a little slow in my opinion, it's not responding very fast and doesn't smoothly scroll

5. The blue bar which is shown then waiting and going from left to right and back for a while has a blue glow, but this blue glow is cut off by the box (it's not nicely fading out, but cut off at 25% density or somewhat)

6. Ambilight can't stay on in stand-by mode (or am I wrong?)

7. When playing from a DLNA source audio is sometimes not supported

8. When playing from a DLNA source audio stops for 500 ms a few times a minute and continues

9. When switching from HDMI (1) to Scart a very high short beep is noticeable.

A non software issue: Ambilight is faced to much to the wall, so when hanging the TV to close to the wall (2,5 cm) it's not spreading against the wall nicely in my opinion the leds should shine more to the side instead to the back.

Beside above a great TV!

And what is the result on these points you reported:

1. When switching from scart to HDMI (1) the sound is still coming from scart, not from HDMI (1) when no audio is send by HDMI device.

9. When switching from HDMI (1) to Scart a very high short beep is noticeable.

Have you tried another HDMI or Scart cable? If not, please do this and then report back the result.

A non software issue: Ambilight is faced to much to the wall, so when hanging the TV to close to the wall (2,5 cm) it's not spreading against the wall nicely in my opinion the leds should shine more to the side instead to the back. (Solved by hanging the television further from the wall)

Beside above a great TV!

Additional items found in 150.82.0 (maybe also in older versions):

11. Zapping from channel to channel is slow.

12. When in a menu on the bottom pressing the down button again doesn't go to the top of the list, and when on the top of the list pressing the up button again doesn't go to the botom of the list.

13. Dynamic background lightning flickers sometimes.

Testing, upgrading and reporting cost me almost an hour, so hopefully next time more items are solved. I also played with a Samsung TV an I noticed that menu's do have more artwork and everything responses much faster)

Things I like Philips above Samsung is support and service, less agressive, ambilight, support for Uitzending Gemist and the fact that the Eindhoven region has grown by Philips a lot! Without Philips, I won't have my current job (not at Philips by the way)

My comment on 11.:

11. Zapping from channel to channel was ok with 150.82.0 (and all teh other software), but 10 days after using 150.82.0, zapping now becomes slower and slower. It takes about 3 seconds before it got to an other channel when pushing the + or - button.

Seems to me as if the processor becomes to much data or is to slow??
Maybe temperature is the problem. The TV becomes very hot someare just beneed the left upper corner.
The TV-signal is ok. I check it with "status".

I have same problem with my 40pfl7007. I also have green shadows, green faces or walls (not all green, just in some places). All not happens all the time, just occasionally. I tried on multiple sources of video and HDMI cables.

I noticed a problem with the transition tonal colors in darker places, especially in the green and blue. It looks like the image in 256 colors. Service in Poland don't see a problem. :-(

There is someone, who can try for me app in smart tv called screen dreams ? Run fireplace and check if the bricks are greenish or some even whole green.

Hi JeroenSt.

Please see the answers here.

1.When switching from scart to HDMI (1) the sound is still coming from scart, not from HDMI (1) when no audio is send by HDMI device. (Not solved on 150.82.0)

Where do you get the sound from? Internal/external speakers? Have you connected the TV to an an receiver and all the other devices too this?
Have you tried another cable?(HDMI and Scart)

2. Much apps don't exit by using the back button, they stay running for example, uitzending gemist (by pressing red button) and videoland apps do this. (Not solved on 150.82.0)

Some apps have an exit/back button. So in most cases this is an app limitation and not up to the TV.

6. Ambilight can't stay on in stand-by mode (Not solved on 150.82.0, when pressing the ambilight button the ambilight setting is changed (of, dynamic, static) while screen is off)

Press menu button, then select Setup and press OK. TV settings > Ambilight > Advanced > Lounge light mood. Select the colour scheme with which Lounge light will start up.

To turn on lounge light turn TV to standby mode. Wait 20 seconds; turn on lounge light by pressing ambilight button, wait another 20 seconds before it comes on.
To change Lounge light colour scheme, press ambilight button again.

To turn off press and hold ambilight button. For more information please check Manual page 31-32.

7. When playing from a DLNA source audio is sometimes not supported

Make sure the media you’re playing is within the specifications stated in the manual page 53 (under multimedia).

Yes, did both, actually when the HDMI source starts playing audio the audio is switched over from scart to HDMI actualy, but when the HDMI source doesn't send audio the television audio stays coming from the scart port altough the video is coming from HDMI.)

2. Much apps don't exit by using the back button, they stay running for example, uitzending gemist (by pressing red button) and videoland apps do this. (Not solved on 150.82.0)
Some apps have an exit/back button. So in most cases this is an app limitation and not up to the TV.
Yesterday I had to put the television off and on because the Youtube app doesn't have an exit button, not acceptable I think...

I'll try this, thanks!!

7. When playing from a DLNA source audio is sometimes not supported
Make sure the media you’re playing is within the specifications stated in the manual page 53 (under multimedia).
My NAS is not powerfull enough to transcode audio, so this feature is useless to me

8. When playing from a DLNA source audio stops for 500 ms a few times a minute and continues when using multi channel audio output over spdif (Not solved on 150.82.0)
Tried another audio coding than multichannel? If so, what is the result of this? If not, please try.
Yes, 2 channel output works fine, but then I don't have surround.. :(

10. When viewing an HD channel audio stops for 500 ms a few times a minute and continues when using multi channel audio output over spdif (Not solved on 150.82.0)
Tried another audio coding than multichannel? If so, what is the result of this? If not, please try.
Yes, 2 channel output works fine, but then I don't have surround.. :(

12. When in a menu on the bottom pressing the down button again doesn't go to the top of the list, and when on the top of the list pressing the up button again doesn't go to the botom of the list.
This is normal behavior.
Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not but going up one by one takes sometimes much time

13. Dynamic background lightning flickers sometimes.
Improvements will be in an upcoming software update
Nice!

Hi everyone,
My TV model is the 42PFl6007H with the last firmware.
Please add in the list of bug this one :
Input lag in 3D is way too high with 182 ms ( take a look at my previous post, where i took some mesure http://www.supportforum.philips.com/en/showthread.php?10479-PFL6007h-input-lag-result-test-amp-tips )
And if you don't know what's the limit for playing game comfortably, here is a quote from wikipedia :

"This is the lag caused by the television (which is also called "input lag" by the first definition above). Image processing (such as upscaling, 100 Hz, motion smoothing, edge smoothing) takes time and therefore adds some degree of input lag. It is generally considered that input lag of a television below 30 ms is not noticeable,[6] discussions on gaming forums tend to agree with this value."

This is a serious bug that can't be fix for now with the current firmware. Since when i try to put game mode or computer , the 3D doesn't work good with a bad image glitch, and the lag is still heavy ( 150 ms ) .
Do something Philips, or tell us if you aware of this problem, or else i will ask for refund.

You can exit youtube via smart tv button or the home button.

Please fix the bug with the Overscan to the left, using the Radeon 7970 Radeon 0 overscan there is more 5 pixels to the RIGHT SIDE makes the screen go offset and the LEFT SIDE is ok.

If i do 1 bar before the 0 overscan the LEFT SIDE is offset by 5 and the right SIDE is ok.

Btw. does this tv support 0-255 FULL RGB HDMI ? RGB 4:4:4 Pixel Format PC Standard (FULL RGB) or does it only support LIMITED RGB ?

Ou television is 42PFL6687H/12, software is 150.83. I'm very happy with the television. But I have encountered a few bugs. When playing a (not recorded) movie from USB hard disc, I always enabled subtitles. The Dutch subtitles are always SRT or divx XSUBS. The problem is that after a while the subtitles disappear. It happens at random. If I play the same movie again, the subtitles don't disappear where it did last time. It can range between 15 minutes or two hours. Disabling or enabling the subtitles does not have an effect. I have to play movie again to see the subtitles once again. I have a gut feeling the television has a problem concerning subtitle position. Everything from easylink is disabled. Easy link has a feature that can automatically reposition subtitles. I had it activated and deactivated it ever since. The subtitles keep disappearing. Anyone else can confirm this?

Another problem is teletext, it's too bright. The image outside teletext is very good, not overly bright. It's impossible to make sure teletext is acceptable without affecting the overal picture of the television.

A third bug is that the television doesn't remember the 3D Depth setting when using the 3D Button. I prefer the "more" setting but it always remembers "normal" setting.

A fourth bug is that MKV doesn't work with builtin subtitles. A MKV container can hold subtitles but the television doesn't recognise the subtitles. However, it does display subtitles using a seperate srt file.

A fifth bug is that the font of the subtitles is too small using srt files. I can solve this using xsubs, but I can't use it for mp4 files. Mp4 files does not support xsubs. Xsubs is a feature of divx & xvid, if I am not mistaken.

I would appreciate if you look into these matters. I would appreciate if these bugs get to the developers. The first bug I mentioned is the most critical one for me. I can live with the other bugs.

I could try that. However, I see don't see the relevance since the new firmware doesn't mention solutions for the bugs I've mentioned.

Hi, When I set the sleep timer for 5 minutes for example, after 4 minutes appears a message "the tv will switch off in 1 minute". If I go to menu and set sleep timer again for other 5 minutes the tv will shut down anyway. So I think that is a bug because you shuld have the possibility to change the sleep timer if you change your mind after the message appears.

I've updated our television (42PFL6687) with the latest firmware (150.85). The problems I've mentioned in this thread are still valid. But the first problem (loss srt of xsub subtitles) could be related to another problem. Try this: use a video with xsubs, fastforward (32X speed) for an hour, the subtitles don't appear. Even when you deactivate them and again activate it.

After more testing, there are two seperate bugs:

When fastforwarding for a half hour (movie time) at 32X or 16X or 8X speed, xubs won't appear when playing a movie with xsubs on external usb harddisk. It happens with every movie with xsubs and is easily reproduceble.

When playing a movie with srt or xsubs, the subtitles dissapear sporadically. It happens randomly, it could happen after an half hour or whole hour or not even at all. If you play same movie for a second time, the movie doens't give the same problem at the same movie moment. If subtitles are disappeared, the TV indicated the currently time of the movie is past that of the actual movie. (e.g. shows 420 hours instead of 2 hours in the movie). The TV thinks the movie lasts 420 hours and of course, at that moment there aren't any subtitles and that's why he doesn't show them. Pressing pause and then play, doesn't fix the problem. If you fast forward or "rewind", it goed to the end of the movie. (because the tv thinks the movie lasts 420 hours and the end of the movie is the nearest to display.)

I hope that helps. Please give this information to software developers. It's possible that these bugs are also in the upcoming TVs and need to be checked. Our television is a 42PFL6687 and the software is 150.85.

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem on my 46pfl8007, the TV is not horizontal and the left corner is lower than the right corner... :(

Is this problem can be solved with a new stand ?

Hi LR92F,

Yes, I have reported this to the dutch Philips customer service. They had similar cases before. A wrongly machined casted part of the stand causes these TV's to hang askew. Philips has sent me a new stand and now the TV is perfectly levelled. So just get in touch with Philips' french customer service.

Regards.

Hello,

I own a 46PFL8007 TV.
Current Software : v150.87
TV has been reinstalled from scratch to be sure everything is set to factory presets.

I unfortunately get some troubles with my TV set.

"Physical" issues :
a) Stand problem :After assembling the stand the TV hangs (TV is not horizontal : the left corner is lower than the right corner).
Answer (from DadGommit) : (Dutch) Philips customer service knows this case and should be abble to provide a new stand.
b) Mura effect/Clouding : by watching dark or black images and depending on image profile used (preset profiles or personal profile), or during zapping beetwen 2 channels (short black image), i can see several white spots on the screen. It's worse during 3D (because backscreen led light is increased) and white clouds are more visible. Very very annoying.

"Software" issues :
c) Smart TV : impossible to register online on the TV itself. The process ask to follow the instructions in the email received and to finish the registration online on the TV itself but it does not work : SmartTV systematicaly says something is missing in the process and proposes to do it later.
d) Smart TV : Internet browsing and navigation inside a web page is horribly low. Very often, i lose the pointer during 1 minute as if the CPU was totally overcrowded.
e) Source choice : when i change the type of device associated with a HDMI port (let say BluRayPlayer type associated to HDMI1 for example), my choice is systematicaly changed by the TV to another type (changed in DVDPlayer in my example - another case : HD digital receiver changed in Digital receiver).
f) TV button on the remote controler : does not work. I'm using a source (let say HDMI1 for example) and want to go back to TV source by using this button on the remote controler, it does not work.
g) HBBTV : does not work with French broadcaster "ArteHD" (channel 7), but works well with "Arte" (same broadcaster but SD, channel 57).
h) (Internet) EPG : When i choose a program in the EPG and try to use the feature "Watch now" it does not work.
i) (New) Audio sync : i was not sure it was an isolated issue or not, but i have an audio sync problem when i watch a TV program : audio and image are not sync whatever i use internal TV speaker or external speaker (optical out to a 5.1 amp). I tried to change audio delay in the configuration sound menu but with no effect.

j) (New) Smart TV : Internet browsing on http://www.youtube.com/tv makes the TV crash !
if somebody could try this i would be interested to know the result...
- connect to http://www.youtube.com/tv
- synchronise your smartphone with the TV by using the code provided on the youtube portal
- choose a video with your smartphone (should be displayed on TV screen)
- crash of the TV set !!!!

I hope i will have solutions quickly... it's my first time experience with a high end HD TV LCD set and i must admit i'm disapointed.
Thanks for your help.

Hi LF92F.

c) Smart TV : impossible to register online on the TV itself. The process ask to follow the instructions in the email received and to finish the registration online on the TV itself but it does not work : SmartTV systematicaly says something is missing in the process and proposes to do it later.

You can also go into www.philips.fr and register your TV there.

d) Smart TV : Internet browsing and navigation inside a web page is horribly low. Very often, i lose the pointer during 1 minute as if the CPU was totally overcrowded

This is a feature ment for quick search while adverts etc and the architcture is made for cehtml.

e) Source choice : when i change the type of device associated with a HDMI port (let say BluRayPlayer type associated to HDMI1 for example), my choice is systematicaly changed by the TV to another type (changed in DVDPlayer in my example - another case : HD digital receiver changed in Digital receiver).

Please try to disable/ turn of easylink/ CEC on all devices (TV and the connected ones) that you're experiencing this on.

f) TV button on the remote controler : does not work. I'm using a source (let say HDMI1 for example) and want to go back to TV source by using this button on the remote controler, it does not work.

Try to reset your remote control by taking out the battery and press 1 button down for about 1 min and then put battery back in again. Remember to re-pair your remote with the TV.

g) HBBTV : does not work with French broadcaster "ArteHD" (channel 7), but works well with "Arte" (same broadcaster but SD, channel 57).

Please check in ip.epg if the channel arteHD is corretly linked to arte. You can do this by pressing options button.

h) (Internet) EPG : When i choose a program in the EPG and try to use the feature "Watch now" it does not work.

Do you get any message up on the screen when pressing "watch now"? or what exactly happens?

LR92F

Hi Benedickte,

Thank you very much for your support.
Here is some feedback :

c) Smart TV : impossible to register online on the TV itself. The process ask to follow the instructions in the email received and to finish the registration online on the TV itself but it does not work : SmartTV systematicaly says something is missing in the process and proposes to do it later.

You can also go into www.philips.fr (http://www.philips.fr) and register your TV there.

ok, but i'd prefer to do it as proposed on the TV as strongly suggested at www.philips.fr ;-)

d) Smart TV : Internet browsing and navigation inside a web page is horribly low. Very often, i lose the pointer during 1 minute as if the CPU was totally overcrowded

This is a feature ment for quick search while adverts etc and the architcture is made for cehtml.

well.. you mean it's not possible to browse the web within "loud" and sophisticated webpage ?

e) Source choice : when i change the type of device associated with a HDMI port (let say BluRayPlayer type associated to HDMI1 for example), my choice is systematicaly changed by the TV to another type (changed in DVDPlayer in my example - another case : HD digital receiver changed in Digital receiver).

Please try to disable/ turn of easylink/ CEC on all devices (TV and the connected ones) that you're experiencing this on.

When i turn off easylink/CEC on the TV the type of the source is not changed and stay as is... the problem is that i would like to use the CEC and to change the type source to a correct value...

f) TV button on the remote controler : does not work. I'm using a source (let say HDMI1 for example) and want to go back to TV source by using this button on the remote controler, it does not work.

Try to reset your remote control by taking out the battery and press 1 button down for about 1 min and then put battery back in again. Remember to re-pair your remote with the TV.

I tried to reset my remote control by taking out the battery and pressing 1 button for more than 1 min, put the battery back again, re-paired my remote and the problem is still there...

g) HBBTV : does not work with French broadcaster "ArteHD" (channel 7), but works well with "Arte" (same broadcaster but SD, channel 57).

Please check in ip.epg if the channel arteHD is corretly linked to arte. You can do this by pressing options button.

Why should i link arteHD (channel 7) to arte (channel 57)? The only consequence of this proposal is that "ArteHD" logo in the I-EPG is changed in "Arte" : I tried to change the link as proposed but the problem is still there. Note that the red button sometimes appears very shortly on arteHD channel but i never can access HbbTV webpage by pushing the red button on the remote controler...

h) (Internet) EPG : When i choose a program in the EPG and try to use the feature "Watch now" it does not work.

Do you get any message up on the screen when pressing "watch now"? or what exactly happens?

No, not any message nor code error; nothing happens...

At the end, none of the proposal seems to correct the software issues at this stage :(
note that "hardware" issues still remain and are to be adressed also.

Hi, I'm new here. I've got 32pfl6007. I've got a problem with switch-off timer. Another user asked about it some time ago, but there was no answer. I hope someone can please me now. Thats the problem:
"Hi,

I have Philips TV 42PFL6007K, and recently noticed that there is some strange problem with the switch off timer.
Switch off option was turned on after 60 minutes.
At the beginning, everything was just fine, after 60 min (when there is no signal from the remote control) the TV displayed turning off message and turned itself off automatically.
Several days ago, the TV showed the message, turn itself off, and then suddenly turned on. the TV has worked all night for several days and does not switch itself off properly...

I have tried to disconnect the mains power, to make factory reset and also to reinstall the TV, but it remains the same, the TV just turned itself on automatically after switching off."

Recently i've also noticed that from time to time TV switches off and on automatically ( some kind of quick reset) a few second after start ( by Power button on remote control)

Sorry for my english

Hi LR92F,
I have only had 2 issues the same as you. Which really are just annoying!
1) Wrong info with regards to registering
2) Pointer on remote when 'trying' to access internet.

Your other points appeared to be regarding connected hardware.

Yes PS3 is good, I know someone who has one - but I don't play games. I was trying to find one where I can use it as a hard drive & pause live tv. I initially thought I could pause live tv via a USB memory stick (with appropriate memory). But I fear that this cannot be done..... I certainly don't want to buy a usb stick & find out it doesn't work, as they are expensive over 32GB.

I have read with regards to the *007 that there appears to be a problem with the LED blinking red. I haven't had this.

So, as yet, I am pleased with the tv - but as you have stated, it is high end, & the issues that ensue should not be there, or at least be rectified with updated software.

I must admit, I only find out that there is a software update, if I venture on to the forums. I would have thought that Philips would have informed me/others via email etc. Especially when registered. Surely that cannot be a difficult task?

Anyhow, good luck with your tv & I hope you have many happy hours watching. :)

I have a new issue with v150.87 on my 46PFL8007 :

j) (New) Smart TV : Internet browsing on http://www.youtube.com/tv makes the TV crash !
if somebody could try this i would be interested to know the result...
- connect to http://www.youtube.com/tv
- synchronise your smartphone with the TV by using the code provided on the youtube portal
- choose a video with your smartphone (should be displayed on TV screen)
- crash of the TV set !!!!

Please note that i still have no solution to the numerous problems i have : http://www.supportforum.philips.com/en/showthread.php?8029-List-of-bugs-in-6xx7-7xx7-and-8xx7-series&p=56967&viewfull=1#post56967

and it's getting worse now...

HELP ! :-(

Hello all,

Is someone from Philips reading this thread?
No news since May 15th, and the list of bugs is almost huge according to me.
I would say that some bugs are serious enough to be taken into account !

Out of respect for Philips customers and fans, would you mind giving us some help and support please...

Regards

Does a crash and reboot of the TV not a serious and major bug enough for having an official response from Philips ?

I cannot believe Philips couldn't care less about this...

Hi LR92F and all,

All bugs are indeed serious enough to be taken into account, I agree. The question is merely how this is done. Please allow me to clarify.

With the amount of new software threads being started in the forum at present, the amount of response each thread is getting from moderators will be limited, as I am sure you can all appreciate.

I know a lot of you have spent a great amount of time testing and reporting issues with your individual TVs. This is ALWAYS appreciated by us, although we don't always make an appearance in all threads.

I would like to make a request from all of you active in this thread. Due to the amount of time this thread has been going, the best way to ensure that your current software feedback reaches the developers, would be to take advantage of both the technical and experience threads. These threads are posted both to announce the new software versions, but also to collect and collate information on the software for the developers in the most effective way.

The threads (each in their own way) help us gather information and compare information. The technical thread format in particular gives us a very clear overview of distinct bugs, whereas the experience thread gives us nuance and detail.

Your hard work is appreciated regardless of where you post it. Your feedback has great importance to us, especially regarding the software, but also in all other matters. Many of your have asked for your feedback to receive more attention and this would be the best way to achieve this.

I would very much like to remind all of you that this is mainly a user to user forum. Many of you are very active and a great support for both new and established users, which is absolutely great!

Best regards,
Ina

Just to remind that this is Philips official support forum.
Not only in the title but also the way philips website directs users to this forum when they search for support. As well as philips support techniocal people on the phone. "user to user" is only hidden in forum rules post.

I've been here for months and I can personnaly understand that the lack of communication upset some people. Some of the bugs are/were just making the TV set not work, and there is/was sometimes not a word if it was taken into acount for future release. Writing in main technical thread makes no difference.
So my view is that Philips has also room for improvement. It's sad that you haven't said a word about it. Internet was meant for interaction not for Marketing purposes only (good looking forum but no valuable information).

My 2 cents.
I still think my "Smart" Tv is not worth what I paid for it, and does not corresponds to Philips marketing information sheet, as well as not state of the art.

eeh... altho' I'm not a complete novice, I found this thread through a lot of research & has been helpful. But...why can't you answer here? I have now to search & find 'technical and experience threads' & then find the specific tv.
One question: Why don't you email peeps when there is a software update? I am sure that this isn't beyond the realms of possibility.
I only find out there's a software update via someone posting on a thread that I am subscribed to. My tv always says there is no software update available when there is!

Hi all,

Please use the following software threads for the new software version 150.88:

Experience thread (details, questions and discussions):
http://www.supportforum.philips.com/en/showthread.php?13174-Experience-thread-FW-v150-88-for-6-7-8-9xx7-Series-2012

Technical Feedback thread (for specific software feedback):
http://www.supportforum.philips.com/en/showthread.php?13177-Technical-feedback-for-FW-150-88-for-6-7-8-9000-Series-2012

This thread will be closed now. The thread has been ongoing for quite some time, and as explained previously, the new software threads are the best place to report your experiences:

http://www.supportforum.philips.com/en/showthread.php?8029-List-of-bugs-in-6xx7-7xx7-and-8xx7-series&p=60597&viewfull=1#post60597

If anyone would like for this thread to be re-opened, please send me a PM with your reason and I will re-open it.

Thank you all again for your continued feedback.

Best regards,
Ina
