What about the SBS-app for 2010-models??
In the Netherlands SBS had HbbTV which suppor this app, but the 2010 models donot support HbbTV. So, shich solution is Philips going to offer?
In the past the apps of HbbTV could be reached via the red button (like Uitzending Gemist), bus now the app isnot there in SmartTV for the 2010-models an other solution must be made.
Please Philips react on this! Is Philips going to develop the app for 2010-tv's or is Philips going to update the HbbTV-part?

I'm suprised that noone asked about application called SHOUTcast Radio -> http://www.shoutcast.com/ (Panasonic has it)
It's simply the best app for internet radio.
- tunein.fm has only german stations
- tunein.com is slightly better, but still lacks a lot of great stations
Please consider adding SHOUTcast app.

Yep, just bought it from Amazon - they were flogging them for £799, which is a steal for a 52" Ambilight tv. I just don't understand why Philips don't make it more clear - the link from the 8605 support page is to the generic Net TV site, which shows iplayer as included. Oh well, guess I'll just use the PS3 for iplayer instead.
Thanks for the reply Jessy

NETFLIX - Definitely. I hope that Philips doesn't think that they sell more TV:s if they deny to implement Netflix to 2012 models like mine 58PFL9956T/12 Top end model as they already have it on a cheap HMP2000 mediaplayer. If they do it's like shooting to Your own leg as it looks like the customer is not important but sales only. It should be understood that people won't buy a new TV once a year - especially expensive ones. If the Netflix is not implemented to 2012 models I'll be very very disapointed to Philips customer service.

I quote myself in here from another topic.
I have to admit. This is unbelievable bad support from philips. It takes weeks to get some answers for simple question. I cant use any app that is usefull for me.
-Viaplay: where did it disappear?
-Netflix: No?
-Well i just listen Tunein webradio then... NO!!! It doesn't work! Keys won't correspond, nothing happens when I try to move in menu!
-Youtube: works but slow and laggy.
I am losing my faith in this product. This is a "SMART TV" damn it! There is nothing smart about this when nothing that is usefull won't work! The rest of the apps is junk that nobody needs! Fix these problems please! consentrate to fixing these problems first. We don't need a stupid fireplace-app (which takes forewer to start).
I want to say that I wanted a modern day TV. Not an old crappy hardware which philips and I can't use for anything usefull. I'm going to switch this dumbTV for samsung or LG which supports their customers and everything is working like a trains toilet. But quess what! no1 is willing to buy this peace of junk from me so i guess i just throw this devils rejected TV from balcony and buy a real smart TV. Hi,
just change the location in the App Gallery to Italy... then add your favorite app - sometimes they allow to view content outside the country...
So location is not tied to IP address ?
Philips has a table of Apps depending on country (pdf file somewhere in support webpages), so I thought the TV (or Philips server) was checking the country and limiting the Apps access based on IP.
Or is there a two-step process : App gallery location, then the application that can add a location check ?
I will also check asap.
Another way is to VPN, thus make sure the IP is switched to the right country (I still have to try myself).

And the worst part is that I asked Phillips (the official website) or will your input new portals of films in devices.
The answer was always yes. From the moment when I asked a question (March 2012) have not seen any new service available in Polish.
Lying to customers to increase sales is simply rudeness.
Unfortunately, this is the solution to the short term, I was finally discouraged.

I have a smart tv 32PFL4007M/08.
In Italy there is a site on the Internet: www.rai.tv where you can find and see the replication of Rai transmissions of the last 7 days. The same occurs for www.video.mediaset.it for Mediaset programs.
There's an app for access to these Italian broadcasts ?
We will take care to make this app.
Otherwise, accessing the Internet with Smart TV, directly to that site, the screen asks you to install Microsoft Silverlight to watch the program. Is it possible to solve this problem?

Now, we have been contacted by MediaMarkt as I wrote them and pointed out the anomaly with Philips Smart TV sets, lacking promised functionality (shown in shop), Apps and also a copy from Philips Consumer Services, stating that such Apps would never, never, never be developed for _any_ Philips Smart TV:s. Its interesting to see how this progresses and all other brands are offered instead of Philips TV:s. Its really a shame - and so easy to solve for a big company.

When I press to update, it doesn't find needed version to download. So my question is, how can solve this issue? Is there is a proper adobe flash version for Philips TV or I can get a different internet software so I can watch normal videos over internet from my TV?
Please help.

Ok, thanks, about youtube I know that it works, but for example I go to www.tv3play.lt to see the program I missed on tv, but it doesn't show anything. On PC shows fine cause it has adobe flash.
Now I understand that internet tv isn't internet tv if you can't see videos over internet. Disappointing from Philips!
Is any other internet browsers for Philips?

For the Netherlands I would like to see an app for: Politiek24 / Nederland24More then one and a half year ago and still no Politiek24. How about this issue? When will if finally be added to the APPs?
Another general question: what is the goal of writing requests/wishes here? I hardly see any changes in the APPs Galary so where is the follow-up...

There is no way to get Adobe Flashplayer on your TV, so said to me the customer service. It's not yet on the TV and you can't download it, because the TV has no hard disk like a computer and is not compatible with any computer file.
The only way to see videos is to see them through an App of the Smart TV (like the Youtube App or some TV Channels Apps).
The problem is that there is not enough apps ! Even not those apps that Philips website presents as advertisement ! That's a shame !

Philips needs to increase the number of Apps for their Smart TV. it's great to be able to view the internet through the TV but they need to make available all the Apps they advertise in all countries. Right now, the service is limited.

Yep - the "Smart TV" differs from PC so that most of the properties are programmed to the firmware ie. there is no possibility to download anything new. However "Apps" are possible to download, but they are specially made for current TV set. There are no general apps available without link to TV brand or model.

By the way - has anyone noticed any new application for Philips "Smart" TV lately? Or based to this thread? I haven't.

I wish I could use Netflix on my 2011 model smart tv.
Spotify too, but Netflix is my greatest desire.
Boring with a smart tv that is not so smart after all.
Living in Norway by the way, and we got Netflix to Norway in October 2012.
Will there be updates to this?

OK - Philips will not implement Netfix to expensive 58PFL9956/T12 smart TV. This is my 4:th Philips LCD TV in the house and will also be the last of this brand as Philips doesn't develop nor implement new requested features to smart TV:s. Philips TV:s stay with the properties they have when carrying out of shop - only major bug fixes seem to be coming every now and then.
All the other major brands like SONY, LG and SAMSUNG take care of their customer investments by developing their products (older as well) due to customer feedback so my next set will be from one of those manufacturers. :)

I just bought a 47PFL6877T, and expected that Netflix would be there. I'm really surprised that it's not. The amount of apps were quite disappointing to be honest. I read somewhere online that you would not offer a Netflix app on 2012 TV-series and older, only to the new 2013. Is that really true?!
Kind of defeats the purpose of "Smart TV", wouldn't you agree?
If the "Smart TV" concept is only a small set of "proof-of-concept" apps, and there are no plans of either adding new apps nor updating the ones that exists. Why even bother with "Smart TV"?
I implore you to add some resources to you "Smart TV" people, and get an edge over your competitors by exploring this possibility further.
Offering a Netflix app would be a great place to start.

I just contacted Philips customer care regarding Netflix, and here's what I understood from their answer:
- it is actually not them but Netflix who creates the app for the TVs, so Philips can only wait and see
- they hope Netflix will develop the app, so they can make it available to newer models (whatever that means, they did not specify) through firmware updates.
Granted , Philips could try to pressure Netflix, but maybe they do behind the scenes, who knows. I was actually quite pleased with the speed it took customer care to answer (a few hours), so I no longer think Philips just disregards its customers.
Meanwhile, I'm going to cancel my Netflix subscription and let them know why (no support for Philips TVs). My actions alone won't probably bear fruits, but if others follow, maybe something will happen, and something will definitely happen if there is a wave of people canceling their subscription. Maybe Netflix is not even aware of our disenchantment, since we all came barking the wrong tree (Philips).
Hope this helps, and let's cross fingers we get Netflix in the near future on our Philips TV.
And for those who want Spotify, etc. it is probably the same issue. Philips can't do much about it.
Cheers!

In Sweden:
1. Vimeo. I know it exists already but I'm missing the possibility to enter any Vimeo URL to movies or albums (and of course it should prompt for passwords when needed).
2. On-demand channels like Netflix, Viaplay, HBO, SVT Play, TV4 Play and more.
3. All apps should work fully with a touch mobile, I know some apps doesn't use the remote keyboard.

I don't quite understand how these are missing - they're staples of the UK household!

Netflix please.
Buying a 47pfl6007t/12 I made the mistake of assuming that this app would be on the tv because that would be you know.. normal these days.
To my disappointment I found myself browsing an app gallery containing nothing but crap, including 4 porno apps out of 14 available apps.
Reading more topics on this forum there seems like Philips staff is refering to Netflix for being responsible for not being able to give their customers what could normally be expected.
I have a really hard time beliving this is actually the whole story considering the overall lack of useable apps.
I bought my TV in January and have not seen any new apps so far.
I of course blame myself the most for not making proper research before buying a "smart" TV.
So, if you are buying a smart tv and are doing it the right way at the moment making your research, move along! Philips has nothing to offer you other than frustration and an expensive heap of plastic.
The TV is another thing. Not considering Net TV I'm very satisfied with the picture, sound, connections and the generosity to include 4 3D glasses.

I suggest dawawas (dawawas.com), it is cross country.
One can create an event to upload fotos. Every invited user can upload fotos for the same event. So this is a cloud web service to create common foto albums with privacy enablement. Means access can be restricted to invited users.
Currently the service is quite new. But smartphones, web browser and Samsung TVs are enabled.
This web service is aiming to be a cross device, privacy enabled foto sharing service. Looks quite promising and I feel, there is currently nothing, when you have several people making fotos of one event to share that fotos cross people and watch the fotos cross device with restricted access.

Own a 46pfl5007t. My last Philips TV? I certainly won't recommend this to any friends, based on the state of the user interface and features I see on Philips TVs. The picture is ok, so I'll probably be stuck with this for a while - why didn't I do my research and buy one off the two good companies?
Kind of embarrassing that Philips hasn't got any decent apps on a 2012 "Smart TV" - even the YouTube app is nearly useless.

Hi Philips,
first of all I'm quite satisfied with the TV features of my recently acquired 42PFL6907T/12 Smart TV - the SMART part is becoming a disappointment though, especially after I have learnt that Philips is neglecting to update the sparse selection of Apps for sets older than 2013. I don't understand why fx Netflix cannot be offered to 2012 sets as well as the new 2013 ones.
Anyways, it would be a huge improvement for Danish Philips TV owners (of older as well as new sets) to have an Online TV App to access the wealth of free content offered by the Danish national television station "DR" (http://www.dr.dk/tv/). I know that such an App has been developed for Samsung Smart TVs.
I really hope you will read this and act on my suggestion. This important app alone would make me able to recommend Philips Smart TVs to others.
thanks in advance

You can download PLEX for Android on your Smart Phone or Tablet PC. You can use it as a media server. So you can stream the movies to your TV. See demo movie on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2Wl33pBsi8)
