HTS7140/12 connect to Samsung TV

Hi,
This weekend I bought the HTS7140/12 and want to connect it to my Samsung LE40A856 TV.
I use HDMI on the HTS and on the tv. However I dont hear the sound of the tv on the HTS.
Even tried optical connection but in that case i only hear a soft sound and not the regular volume.
What do I need to connect the HTS to the TV?

If your TV does not support ARC then it will be difficult. For the optical one did you select the right source SOURCE/AUDIO SOURCE

But what I mean did you select the right source on your HTS??

There's only one optical in available I think...

Hi are there any settings on your Tv that might imporve this. Also did you or can you try on a different TV
