External-HDD compatibility

Hello, I would like to ask, if my TV will recognize only external-HDDs with their own power supply (3.5" versions of HDD) or can I also use slimline 2.5" HDDs wchich are usb0powered?
My TV model is 40PFL8606/H12

Hi,

yes, it will mostly work - however, Philips only "supports" HDDs with external power supply. I suggest to use a Y-cable to get the power from 2 USB ports.
