BDP2600 with Sony compatibility

Hi, I have a BDP2600 Blue ray player that does not seem to work with the Sony KDL-40EX650 (Africa) smart TV.
The same model BDP used to work with a Sony KDL-26E420. The KDL-40EX650 does not "See" the BDP and cannot control it via remote. If i start up both individually and use there individual remotes I can play the DVD and view it on the TV. I just can't control it using the TV remote and HDMI link. Is there a compatibility issue?

It worked with your other tv and not with this one which is the same brand...looks more there problem then your bdp ones

Hi, the problem has been resolved:
The Sony KDL-40EX650 supports the new revision of the CEC specification (and so does the BDP2600) the problem arrised because I used the same HDMI cable I used with the previous TV (HDMI cable version 1.3a) Since the previous version of TV used the slower CEC spec it worked with the version 1.3a cable. However, since both the new TV and BDP now support the the higher spec CEC they try to communicate at a higher speed which does not work over the HDMI version 1.3a cable. I replaced the HDMI 1.3a cable with a HDMI 1.4b version cable and all is now working well.
