Hi.
In october 2009 I bougth my tv set - and lately it started to turn the volume up all by it self. Sometimes a week or two passes before it does it and sometimes it does several times within an hour.

It's really annoying and the kids are now almost afraid of the TV set.

I updated to latest software via usb: Q5431_0.26.78.0
SetType: 32PFL5604H/12
Productioncode: VN2H0933180108

Tried also new batteries in remote. Is this a software error or is my tv set broken? Everything else works fine - and besides the volume problem we're very happe with it.

Regards, Bo.

Hi,

maybe your remote is broken and it is sending a command continuously. So when you are recognizing the increasing of the volume try to watch at the IR receiver LED on your TV. Does it blink? You could also hide the remote when this happens.

Hi.

I did try to remove the remotes batteries - so I do not suspect this to be an issue with the remote. But surely I'll have a look at the TV LED next time - it is just that I've been very busy turning the volume down each time :-)

Dear Bo,

This is a known issue for this model, and you need to ask for a service intervention via your dealer or Philips (http://www.support.philips.com/support/catalog_selector.jsp) to repair it.

Thanks for quick reply Philips.
I've contacted Philips here in DK and they're on the case.

Hi.
Just wanted to add - that within just 10 days of my initial contact with the local Philips customer care here in DK - the TV repair guy came and fixed the TV in just 15 minutes.

That was easy - I feared that I need to ship the TV back to the internetdealer where I bought it. But since it's 32 inches - Philips has home support...

Very nice Philips :-)

Regards, Bo the happy customer.
