Hello

I purchased less than one week ago a 39PFL3807T.
Firstly, the set isn't recognised on U.K support portal, citing it's available in other countries.
After updating via usb flash to the lastest recommended firmware, the freeview guide is woefully slow, and randomly doesn't respond to remote commands.
I addressed this with technical support via online chat and worryingly they said despite this range being relatively new, it will receive no further updates!
This is clearly a major issue and needs to be addressed.
I have factory reset and reinstalled tv ( the first time it auto shut off banner came on while in the optimizations).
It also had a fluctuating backlight once the other day which i fixed by removing the power cable and changing the hdmi cable to the youview box.
So my question is will philips simply abandon this range or can I expect future support?
Thanks .

Can't quite believe this, but here we go again. My 5 month old 46pfl7007t12 refuses to turn on. I noticed this morning that the led standby light was blinking. The set would not respond to the remote or back panel switch. I pulled the plug and left it a few minutes and powered up again. The set came on and all seemed ok. We've been out this morning and come back again to a blinking led. Same as before, no response to remote or rear buttons so pulled the plug. The set came on and ran for a couple of minutes before turning off. It now resolutely refuses to come back on at all. The led is blinking 3 times. Anyone got any suggestions?
Still running .085 software as I cant turn it on to update.

Is it possible to have an option to set the minimum backlight used by the dynamic backlight ?

Sometimes during a movie scence where there are only few texts on the screen (E.g credits) the backlight goes very low (I guess it goes to the minimum). This is annoying since you can't clearly read the text. Also when the scene changes from very dark to slightly brighter you see this annoying change in the backlight (Especially if the movie have the 2 black bars and you are watching at night !).

I know many people have reported this problem in this forum and most of them have set the backlight to a fixed value to avoid it. However, i like the dynamic backlight since it tend to give very good black in required scenes. The only problem is sometimes it goes too low !

Thats why am asking for an option to set the minimum backlight used by the dynamic backlight.

How many of you guys agree with me ?

Is there any reason why I should not use the game or computer settings on my 47pfl7007 whilst watching blu-ray, DVD or SkyHd satellite services via external sources? I ask, as these settings seem to completely disable HDNM and clear LCD and the inherent artefacts they introduce and, for me, produce a much better picture.

HI,

Anybody have Standby Recording of TV programs working???!

I just updated to the firmware v150-87 yesterday evening in hope for this to be fixed.

If I add fx 4 recording events to happen in the future using the EPG guide and then put the tv in standby mode the following is happening.

When I wake up the tv where it should have recorded the first program I see the following:

The first program is sometimes recorded. Sometimes _NOT_ recorded. And sometimes recorded but failed. Under recordings it says broken.

Then if I check the list for the next events (recordings) to happen in the future I notice that these events are gone!!!

So somehow the TV is clearing the future events...

I have just attached a brand new MEDION 1000GB 2,5" External Harddrive (P82750 (MD 90159)) device and offcourse initialized the HD using the TV so that is ready for recording.

Im pretty frustrated about this BASIC functionality not working! Is it just me?

TV is a 46" 7007T newly bought
