Most populair apps per country.
For those who are interested, we've measured the most populair apps per country (status December 2010). Click on picture for enlargement.

Free observations :D:
1. It seems that the Dutch are more interested in the weather (is also the most popular conversation topic in the Netherlands)...
2. The French and the Germans buy a TV to listen to the radio....
3. Italians are more into video....
4. The Dutch are afraid to miss anything ("TV play back" apps are very popular)....

Hi,

when VideoLoad is available in Germany and the ARD Mediathek will be available in Blu-ray players... Germany will become a "video country" too...

Are there statistics for Greece? EPG absence is very popular in Greece, but I would like to see what other Greeks find useful (as I don't use net tv at all in my 9705...).

May be, in other countries are too less counts for statistics...

Interesting would be what was compared?
Total clicks to App, Total traffic by App, Time of use by App?
IMHO only time of use would be comparable but may be difficult to measure.

Hi tuby,

go to SmartTV, open the AppGallery and if its up and running, press the green button and choose the country you want. - It may help to reed what is written on your tv screen :o

Hey there, im pretty new here, and the reply from u bta helped me right now alot... i have some big issues at the moment... i bought the BDP 5200/12 and i have the issue that everything was and i guess is still in french... i changed everything in the settings on the player in German but all the apps were still french... im starting now to add the german apps... but my problem is my TV(not phillips) seems to hide the last 5 cm down in the screen and so i couldnt and still cant see in the screen where the colorfull buttons are explained :(

Thank you BTA!

Red key is marked "tutti" (all) and green one "Italia". So I've thought it was a selection between all apps and the ones for my country only.
Pressing the green button and getting the list of all available countries was a sort of black magic!
What the apps are usually missing is a common interface and a short help (especially for keys).

Hi sickchicken,

seems that you should redo your TV and or bluray settings - there will be a combination where you can see the complete screen. I'm pretty sure.
At my setting (PANASONIC BDP and Philips TV) it workes best as I set my BDP to "no scaling at all and expect at 16:9 TV" and then vary the TV until you see all the content.

Hello,

in Italy Youtube usage is so high, compared to all the other services, because we have only a few Italian Apps and the most of them are not working at all (see other postings on the forum).

I'm asking why Philips is not involving RAI (the national broadcaster) as other vendors did, to let users see all past programs you can watch on the RAI Internet site? This could be a good marketing advantage for Philips.

The lack in in the italian NET TV portal is the Video Store section.

The Video on Demand value could be bigger and bigger in the italian histogram if only Philips would seriously consider this branch of Apps.

We were asking for it since months and months (I'm listed since Dec. 2010) and the "answer" from Philips is only Acetrax (only for 2011 TV models) :mad:.

Fully helpful to meet the 2009-2010 customers' requests !!!

For the rest Viewster is available but fully disappointing: only old/"back shop" videos/films available.

In particular the last 140.46 firmware version was "lethal". :mad:

At least 4 -5 are not working anymore. Before the installation they were working well.
