Netflix on BDP5500/50
Hi, I am writing from Bolivia. Netflix app is absent in my device. Bolivia receives the service. According to Netflix (https://support.netflix.com/en/node/2438#gsc.tab=0), it should work in this device. I have seen other related topics with no clear conclusion. Any comments?
Hi, it a tricky one. I would start with a software update. The latest software is dated on 2013-03-14, version 3.71. Please update and let us know how you get on.
Netflix on BDP5500/55
Hi, I have just downloaded the new firmware 3.71 however the Netflix App is not available.
The BDP5500 is currently supported by Netflix (https://support.netflix.com/en/node/2438#gsc.tab=0), but I don't know what else to do in order to get the application.
Netflix support person told me that Philips should send the App.
Please your help in this issue.

Yes it is available but Philips just doesn't know who to support their buyers buy providing detailed information.
1. Turn on your BDP5500
2. Go to SmartTV
3. Go to App Gallery
4. Press the green button on your remote control and you'll see that the selection is "International" but you should select your own Country and then press Ok.
Now the Netflix button will be in you App Gallery list, just add it to the SmartTV screen.
In my case I live in Brazil, so I changed from "International" to "Brazil" and it worked just fine.
I'm already using Netflix and it's awesome!!!

Thank you very much for your support and Netflix appears in my BDP5500 blu-ray. I tried the app and works perfectly.
Also, there are several apps under each country and available to include in the main menu.
Is there some additional trick or menu hidden options (not documented in the manual) to improve the use of the equipment?
Marcelo, I'm glad I could help. But so far I haven't found any "other" hidden features or tricks. Should I find any be sure that I'll post here. :-)
