BBC DVD's not playing?
I have a BDP7500 BL05 Blu Ray player and am regularly experiencing problems with BBC DVD's not playing.
The player was bought new at Richer Sounds and has no problem playing anything else?
This problem is exclusively DVD's bought new from Amazon UK (not some dodgy eBay copies from Hong Kong) and they are all BBC DVD's such as;
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
The opening BBC sequence will play but just before it reaches the menu the screen goes blank - then nothing - despite pressing any buttons on the remote...nothing. All these BBC DVD's will play happily on any of our computers or laptops (PC & Mac)
Has anyone else experienced this, and if so can it be resolved by connecting to the Philips/support website and downloading any available software upgrades?
Hi Tim, If other DVDs working fine its more them likely a software issue. I would recommend you to update software. If you do not mind please let us know how you get on.:)
Instructions on how to update the software, and the actual software itself, is available at philips.com/support
Dear MrBarton, no joy I'm afraid.
Connected everything up via a LAN cable, followed the on-screen prompts using the remote, it recognized the Network, but when I selected to download software it said something like "No suitable software found". Tried the whole process again using a USB stick but eneded up with the same on-screen message. I'm going to contact Richer Sounds, as that's where I purchased it, and see if they have any suggestions but suspect I will end up buying another (non-Philips) Blu Ray player...
